Lance Armstrong's going to win his fifth straight Tour de France. Today's stage was the final time-trial (one guy at a time, against the clock, not in a big pack), in the RAIN, for 49km (just over 30mi). His main competition bit it hard in an oil-slicked roundabout on the course, got back up, and was a nervous wreck the rest of the way. Armstrong beat his ass handily, and didn't even win the stage. In fact, he came in third, but the two guys ahead of him aren't close enough to him in the general standings to effect the final yellow jersey standings.
You know you're a cycling geek when...
you wake up at 7:30 on a SATURDAY to watch a race. :D
yes; that´s what i thought today and during the last three weeks too. oh my fucking god. lance armstrong and tyler hamilton. OMFG!
definately the most exciting tour i ever saw; and sorry jan i´m german though, but... *shrugs* and tomorrow: champs elysee. time to prepare the champagne. oh, and hi, btw :)
Its the best Jan's been since his win in '97, and it made the last three weeks the most exciting the Tour's been for me since the first one I ever watched here in America (in half-hour "weekend update" chunks on broadcast tv) in 1987. For a while there, we'd started to call Jan "fat bastard", but that all changed at the prologue three weeks ago. Fat Bastard's not so fat anymore :)
I don't know how many more years Lance has in him, or Tyler for that matter either, but your future looks bright in Germany once again. :)

I swear, Cam's lost five pounds in nervous-energy over the last three weeks, just watching. ;)
