(no subject)
It's raining rather more than I expected it to today. I should have spent my paycheck money on a warm coat, as opposed to a pair of almost entirely impractical high heels. Oh well. When I go to a friend's dinner party tonight (her eighteenth birthday), I will just bask in the warm, self-satisfied glow of knowing that my feet are attired in the cutest shoes there. At the moment, though, I'm barefoot and covered in a quilt my grandmother made me for Christmas.
I'm sort of unsure how to start my very first livejournal post. It seems unneccessary to introduce myself, as there isn't any sort of audience who will read it. I joined livejournal for two reasons:
1) I'm absolutely terrible at keeping an actual, tangible diary. I'm hoping that this next year will bring marked, positive change to my life and I have a desire to document it. Thus, I joined livejournal.
2) I'm a bit of a lurker and I actually read/view quite a large amount of art, poetry, fan fiction, and original writings on livejournal. I think it's about time I tried to join a few communities. I'm not really sure where to start, though. Livejournal is definitely huge and a little overwhelming.
I think it's about time for me to shed the blanket and don the impractical shoes. I will venture into the night, sans warm jacket and armed with nothing but my point-and-shoot Holga and a tube of Givenchy lipstick. Hopefully, both will serve me well.
