No, but I thought it might teach me more about them.

Perhaps. But remain mindful to the greater purpose, and do not get swept away in the fantasy.

I was not aware that fantasy was involved in such matters.

Is that also a human flaw?

When one plays a role, one may become consumed by it.

And it is. Lies, delusion...sooner or later, those who do so come to believe it.
