Stuff and things and such
I feel like I should make an update post because I just realized how long it's been since I posted anything. I've been using Facebook pretty regularly (you should just add me there if you want any interaction, really), but neglecting LJ. Then again, nothing particularly interesting or unusual has been happening lately.
-Work and grad school have both been pretty busy for the past few weeks, so between those two things and writing, most of my time's been occupied. Things at work should start slowing down soon, because 1) we have no money, so we can't buy anything, and 2) end of the quarter for all the students soon, so after the finals rush the library will be virtually empty. There's about three weeks of the semester left for my classes, though (and it is so confusing to work at a place on the quarter system and go to school at a place with semesters), so I'll two semi-lengthy papers and a final to deal with before I can relax. I have to register for next semester's classes tomorrow, but after that all the pre-reqs will be done and I'll be able to take something interesting. Maybe. Since I've worked in a library for three years, I feel like I haven't learned much new so far aside from technical vocabulary that I've never heard anyone actually use. But I think it's obvious that I view this whole endeavor as a hoop I have to jump through to advance in this career. (Don't get me wrong, I like my job, but I'm more passionate about my hobbies and...everything else, really. Or maybe I'm just resentful of all the work I'm required to put in to learn about things I already know.)
-I'm not doing NaNoWriMo. I never do. I think it puts artificial constraints on a creative process. That said, current novel WIP is coming along. The end is in sight but there's still a lot of material to cover. This thing is going to be the length of two books (or even three shorter ones). Sigh.
-Was sick over Halloween and for about a week after. Sucked. Between that and the aforementioned busy-ness and my over-thinking everything, I've been pretty wiped and wasn't too social.
-Taking a quick trip up to Norcal for Thanksgiving and probably a longer one for Christmas. Work will be closed for two weeks so I can play that trip by ear. I'm sure I'll make a post about that later, but if anyone wants to make plans for hang-out times over the holiday weeks, let me know (and that goes for both Socal and Norcal people).
...It is going to be tough to go home and not have my doggie there this year.
-Will also make a Christmas card post soon. I've been pretty bad at replying to others', but I'll try to remedy that in the next few days!
-Lindsay and I completed Epic Quest: Get Disney Ornaments! yesterday.
-Saw Up for the first time this week. It was so cute! (If you know me, you know I loved Dug. ♥)
-Had an awesome time playing Rock Band and such with some of you last night! You know who you are. ♥
EDIT: I was just typing my name into a Christmas card post, and the spellchecker suggested 'Naughtiness'. LOL!
EDIT 2: I MIGHT HAVE ONLY POSTED ABOUT THIS ON FACEBOOK BUT I SAW BLINDSIDE A MONTH OR TWO AGO, GUYS. BLINDSIDE! ♥ I DON'T CARE THAT NONE OF YOU PROBABLY KNOW WHO THEY ARE BUT I LOVE THEM AND I SAW THEM AND IT WAS AWESOME DESPITE THE MASS OF TEENAGERS THERE WHO ALSO HAD NEVER HEARD OF THEM BUT THOUGHT THEY WERE COOL FOR BEING AWAY FROM THEIR PARENTS FOR AN EVENING. BLINDSIDE! ♥
