Karolina had not been around much during the break weeks, no. She'd been there to see Olive graduate, and then she'd already had to go back to LA. Well, she didn't have to, really, but since there weren't any classes keeping her in Fandom, she'd felt a little bit obligated to go back and help out while she could. Los Angeles was a mess. A mess

Liara paused for a moment before she knocked on Karolina's door; she knocked again a second time afterwards, just to be sure.

"...You are packing."

[ sp okay? ]

Karolina looked over and smiled at her. "Um, yeah," she admitted. Like it wasn't obvious that she was. "I'm gonna go back to LA for the weekend. You know, while I still can."

Before she'd have school to keep her grounded in Fandom again.

"I hope you have a good time with your friends," Liara ventured a little awkwardly - she did need to start paying attention to what was happening so that she would stop walking in on, well, packing. "May I enter?"

Or maybe Karolina needed to stop packing all the time.

Which she would. Just not in a way that was going to make everyone happy.

"Yes, of course," she said, waving for her to come in. "I'm just getting a little bit of stuff in order. I don't need that much of it, anyway, I'll be back early next week."

"Everything is all right with your friends?" Liara checked. She slipped quietly into the room and found an empty spot on Karolina's bed to sit down on.

"Well, our version of all right," Karolina allowed. Since they were on the run and hiding from the police and all. "I'm not going back for anything particular."

Liara nodded. "That is a relief," she admitted. "What you do sounds... often dangerous. Not that you should not do it, but... oh, you know what I mean."

[solarhippie]

"We'll be careful, I promise," Karolina said. Even if she could only really promise that to a certain extent. Their motto kind of was Try Not to Die, after all. "It's dangerous, but necessary."

[fewerexplosions]

"Taking care of... bad guys," Liara said. "I know."

[solarhippie]

"But, classes start again next week," she added, putting her bag away for now. "And... I'll be around more."

"You do owe me another date," Liara said, smiling just a little bit.

[solarhippie]

Karolina chuckled and looked down at her feet. "I do, don't I?" Such a hardship. "I guess we'll have to do something about that once I get back."

Liara reached for her hand - she wasn't sure whether it was purely because she wanted to, or to grasp some echo of that night. "Yes... and I believe it is your turn to do the planning," she said, teasing just a little.

Either reason was fine with Karolina. She got to hold her hand either way. "Is it?" she asked with a laugh. "Maybe I'll ask my friends for pointers."

... She'd probably ask Nico, actually.

"They may know more about dating than either of us," Liara said ruefully. "Perhaps they can instruct us on the proper protocol for 'date conversation', though I believe we muddled through."

[solarhippie]

"Oh, I don't think that's such a big deal," Karolina replied, giving her hand a light squeeze. Maybe to reassure, or just because she wanted to. "If you start following rules too closely there, you run the risk of just playing a part, you know? And... that's kind of counterproductive to getting to know each other."
