"Your mom's a Dundas Square!"

I had a girls night last night with Sarah, Ben's sister. She's home from school now, which is great because in all the years I've been dating Ben she's either been away at Queens or in North Bay. So finally we get to spend some quality time together.
We met up on the subway and went downtown to see Ben play in Dundas Square. We had to lie and say we were doing the 30 hour famine to get wristbands. Otherwise they made you stand really far away from the stage. I don't have anything against the 30HF, and I even participated for years, but I disagree with World Vision's distribution methods. (I won't get into it now.) The concert was great, and Ben waved to us from stage and pointed us out to Christine Evans, and she waved from stage too.

Afterwards, we went "backstage" to hang out with Ben, and Sarah got to meet Liam Titcomb finally (who was also playing the show), and his mom and uncle. Ben was mingling, and schmoozing, and all that kind of stuff, which was very entertaining to watch. He was having his picture taken with Christine's drummer at one point, who apparently was in Joy Drop. And then he had to run to Casino Niagara again, but not before Liam asked him if Sarah and I were staying for HIS set, so of course we had to say yes, and stay. And it was getting colder, and we were as hungry as someone ACTUALLY doing the famine, but we stayed.

Right after Liam's set we ran into the Eaton Centre and spent some time playing in Sephora, before moving on to the Queen Mother Cafe for some Nam Jeun and sticky rice with peanut sauce. It was kind of funny actually, because Ben and I always go to the Queen Mother and order exactly the same thing every time, so I was able to share that ritual with Sarah. Funnier still, was the fact that she made the same exclamation that Ben always makes towards the end of his rice about it being filling, and then the same mistake; over-eating.

We headed back uptown on the subway, and back to the house. I hadn't intended on staying over, but I fell asleep during the Tom Selleck (sp?) biography on A&E, so I decided to crash there. In retrospect however, it kinda sucked to wake up in Ben's bed without Ben. I actually didn't hear from him last night, or today so far, so I'm a bit concerned, but not in a motherly "past your curfew" sort of way. I'm going back to the casino tonight, but I don't think I'll be playing the slots again. You only get so much good luck.
