Those are chemistry departments, that don't require an interview. But yes, that would have been something to consider.

I was not very prepared for the whole application process. I just picked a few schools in urban environments with pretty web sites.

Yes, that's the right answer. I would personally quibble that you should also check "K," since there might be an even number on the other side, but perhaps the question was phrased differently in the actual experiment.

Yes, but no useful information can be obtained from the "4". If it's a vowel on the other side, that doesn't help, because examples don't prove hypotheses, and if it's not a vowel on the other side, that doesn't help, because the rule says nothing about what is allowed on the back of non-vowels.
