OMG!! I can hardly stop laughing!
Hubby has bought me a Big Finish story. Its Doctor Who Unbound: Exile. It features Arabella Weir as the The Doctor, yes that's right, the Doctor is a women (and the disk and case are a lovely shade of pink!), Nick Briggs as the previous incarnation of the Doctor, with David Tennant as Time Lord 2.
I started listening to it earlier and laugh? Oh dear, I am still chuckling now!
Basically the story is that the Doctor (Briggs) has been exiled and forced to regenerate (sound familiar?). He ends up on Earth as a woman (Weir) and takes a job at Sainsbury's..... and gets crackier tthere on in....
The female Doctor, under the assumed name of Susan Foreman (!) goes to work everyday, stacks shopping trolleys, man's the tills, stacks the shelves, then goes out each night with her workmates and gets shitfaced!
Believe me, I laughed my knickers off almost when she puked over the Master.....
Anyway, back on Gallifrey, someone has decided they want the Doctor back so sends two Timelords to earth to find him. One of the Time Lords is played by David Tennant, who I have to say is hilarious. After checking the matrix they decide on appropriate clothing and money for the time period and set off. Unfortunately they have got it wrong and end up in the year 2000 dressed in flowery flared trousers, purple silk shirts open to the navel, large medallions and floppy hats circa 1970.....
Oh and they only have pre-decimalisation money....
After landing in a river and getting soaked, laughed at and generally ridiculed for their Starsky and Hutch style dress, they realise they have no money (thrown out of a top hotel fitting their status as 'Time Lord'......) they decide to get some money and according to the matrix they way to get money is.........
..... to politely mug an old grannie.......... I kid you not!
With fund obtained from the old lady (who in the the police statement said that they were the nicest muggers she had ever met..) the two Time Lords find accommodation, a sleezy bedsit overlooking Crystal Palace, and go shopping. For baked beans, dog food and a gimp mask....
They decide to hijack a broadcast on terrestrial TV and fake an alien invastion threat, this is where the gimp mask comes in..... however they send out their broadcast on Channel Five (for those in the US, Five has the lowest ratings of the terrestrial channels in the UK and isnt even available to all the UK)....................... at 3am in the morning............................. on Porn night!
Meanwhile the Doctor (Weir) is out getting pissed with her mates, having drunken conversations with her previous incarnation (Briggs) in the mirror and throwing up all over him....... Oh and passing out in the loo.......
So If you want a good laugh, buy
Exile Its brilliant!
