In Truth
It frightens him, this fixed point, this not-quite-human human. It feels wrong but not in the way that he implies. Nine hundred years old and destined to walk alone. This he can understand, and while he doesn’t embrace his fate, he accepts it. It’s the way it’s meant to be; he's known as the Lonely God for good reason.
But that's all changed. There is someone who can love him, who does love him, who can walk beside him. Someone who he can grow old with and he doesn’t know how to handle it.
He realises that companionship can be more terrifying than a life spent alone.
