So I was out trying to find the bird feeder cage that went missing while we were gone - I suspect raccoons - and while I was out walking around the perimetre and trying to poke my way through the blackberry infestation which the previous owners had let take over half the property, I finally met our northern neighbour, whose name is Ron. Eeeeeeeh. This is the kind of story that's incredibly funny... when it's not about YOUR HOUSE.

Also? I forgot bobcats were a construction thingie, and all the while I was picturing kitties digging as if in a litterbox.

Also, hey, it's about our house - just not about us. We're the ones who benefitted by having a stupidly overstrong foundation and retaining wall system. We're backed up against Helm's Deep here. ^_^

It's not worth more on the market than we paid for it, despite that. You don't seem to get more money from the market for being, you know, actually being better built. It just costs more to do. We got the benefit without the cost. Pleasantly, it's a benefit I happen to care about, even if the market in general doesn't. And now I know why! ^_^

Sounds like a few stories I've heard around here, like the whole side of a building sliding down a hill because it wasn't properly built, or something... your allusion to helms deep gave me the giggles... ::picturing solarbird and annathepiper holed up in their little fortress on the hill with an army of elves, and who-knows-whatelse, battling the orcs...::
