A silly gift for
netlynn (and alternatively a letter for Merlin).
One of the castle handmaids found this discarded piece of paper, presumably a letter, in Arthur's chamber. It was under Arthur's bed, together with a desiccated apple core, three dirty socks, a decent amount of dust, and a small blue scarf.
This happened when Arthur's personal servant - again - refused to show up and perform his duties for two days or so. (Arthur's chamber was an absolute mess, by the way.)
The handmaid can't read, but she took the letter and keeps it in her quarters anyways, hoping that she is in possession of a draft for a valuable treaty, or an otherwise mightily important document about "thems politicar things" written by Prince Arthur himself.
(She would keep anything handwritten by Prince Arthur, oh the handsome Prince Arthur, but, you see, the notion of politics and intrigue adds that flavor of secrecy and self-import in the eyes of the maid. She is now privy to some vital matter of state, of that she is convinced.)
