Breastfeeding in public petition.

Petition asking the government to reconsider the new breastfeeding in public bill, which will only protect mothers feeding babies up to 6 months old.

Protection from what? Prosecution for public indecency? From abuse from onlookers?

How many women in this country have been prosecuted?

Sorry, just the info on the petition isn't great as to why the bill is necessary at all, just that it isn't good enough.

No it has been confirmed that women who bf will not be prosecuted for public indency - the bill gives women the right to bf their babies (up to 6 months) the right to feed in public without harrassment or being moved on.

In Scotland mums already have this right - although I don't think there is any age limit linked - which is what this petition is against.

We would like to see a womans right to bf in public enshrined in law wihtout limitations.
