No, really, I shouldn't.

I thought my next costuming project would be Cordelia Naismith Vorkosigan's Winterfair gown from Cordelia's Honor by Lois McMaster Bujold, which would be challenging since I would have only a sketchy description to go by ( Read more... )

Why can't wigs be as easy to brush out as my own hair? I just don't get it.

LOL, very true.

And, did you notice the shape of the skirt? That's going to be fun. I am thinking of tying in the sides of a basic farthingale and see what happens. It looks like a cross between a panier hoop and a farthingale - narrower front to back than side to side, but still sloping gently from top to bottom.

so the geeky of the gaming geeks will know what this is. Thats ok, a costumer will take a picture from a book that is a inch small (the picture not the book) and make a costume. Why because its a beautiful art form. you will look good in this. plus its a lot of fun

This is quite true. Or a sketchy description from a beloved book, even.

hell i saw a person take a clasical piece of music and turn it in to a costume. It was cool and did take and looked just like the music discribed the outfit as, even tho there was no lyrics. i might have to send you a picture of a costume i want to see done. Actually i want to see some one do lots of stuff i have seen, but that would take way to many people and to much money. 8^)

Good point, Jimmy (to chime in WAY late!)

It becomes a point of departure for making something beautiful in 3-D. Myself, I'm not so much into copying something precisely (hence my not getting into Con costuming) but rather letting my costume gene go and see what it comes up with.

'Course, as QG gets more into Cons, who knows what'll happen there!
