HISTORY: Over six hundred years ago, a young slave girl had managed to escape from the harsh life of being someone's tool, and was hanging on an inch of her life when she was found by a nun. When asked if she didn't want to die, the nun gave her power that would ensure her survival - that power was Geass, and the girl's Geass manifested as "Absolute Love"; that is, people would love her immediately. This is what the girl wanted all her life, and she had done it for several years later. After a while, however, the proposals and the entranced people around her was starting to bore her, making her getting tired of it all, making her forget what "true love" was, and she wanted to end it all. Upon hearing this, the nun that had taken care of her all those years, the one who saved her from death, told her "too bad!" she was going to be afflicted with something even worse than death, and thus, betrayed the girl, forced the hell that is immortality on her, and died.

That started the woman known as C.C., her mark of immortality branded on her forehead, just like the Sister had. Afterwards, she began numerous, over hundreds, she claims, contracts with people - giving them the power of Geass in return for having a wish of hers granted. However, none met to her satisfaction, and she continued to live on. By slip of a tongue, she mentioned she knew key figures in history such as Benjamin Franklin and George Washington, having known them enough to be on first name basis with them. She's most likely traveled the world; done all, seen all.

At some point in time, C.C. was the leader of the mysterious Geass Cult, a research group studying the workings of Geass. What she did exactly is unknown, but, from her own words, she was "nothing more than a figurehead". And at a time closer to the one the viewers are introduced, she personally knew, and was most likely a friend of, Marianne the Flash, the mother of Lelouch vi Britannia, and wife of Charles zi Britannia. Along with V.V., Charles's older brother, the four of them had some plot in mind that would "rid the world of lies" by way of the Ragnarok Connection - however, during her time with Lelouch caused C.C. to back out from the plan near the last second.

From there, things seem to be a blur of events for C.C. With jealousy in his heart, V.V. murdered Marianne and covered it up, causing C.C. to leave her post as leader of the Geass Cult. Perhaps, around that time, she met the orphan boy Mao in China, and gave him Geass... which ultimately caused him to go insane and obsessed with her, and had her abandon him. Upon request by Marianne, she watched over Lelouch during his stay in Japan, up until she was found out by Clovis's men, and was captured for experiments researching her abilities and immortality. By chance, or by fate, C.C. is found by Lelouch once again, gives him Geass, and from there, things start moving.

As Lelouch's "accomplice", she oversees his plans to ensure he doesn't foolishly die from them. However, the more time she spends with Lelouch and observes him, the more information is shown about her and her own personal background: her connection with Marianne, Charles, V.V.; Mao; her time as the Geass Cult leader; her life as a slave, as an enchantress ensnaring the hearts of people with her Geass; and what her wish is... to die, but, it something far deeper than that: to be loved.

Though her time with Lelouch had ended with his death in Zero Requiem, C.C. wanders the world again, possibly with a new outlook on life and of Geass, asking to no one in particular,

"Right, Lelouch?"
