[ Cissnei had taken a somewhat shaky seat on a bench, her gloves off and lying next to her along with the odd journal and her now useless transmitter. She tried not to stare at her hands too much, instead concentrating on the idea that this just might be all a bad dream. ...okay, maybe not. She wasn't going to kid herself that this wasn't all too real, and if she needed proof, well, there were scratches on her hands from when she'd fallen next to the lake to get a closer look and they sure stung. It was real. The scars-- she clenched a fist and watched one go white against the skin of her knuckles-- might not be. Whatever the case was, Cissnei wasn't about to crumble.

Of course, there was still the matter of the mission, the helicopter, her friends... Zack... she knocked her fist against the bench, face tight. No, she wouldn't give up. They'd manage. They'd be all right. And in the meantime, she'd get herself into shape and then get back to them

[skycrossing]

[Lenalee is panting only lightly when her heels hit the grass, her hair swishing behind her wildly and threatening to come loose of the red ribbon--Allen's ribbon--it was tied in.]

Cissnei!

[She clutches her book tightly in her hand, eyes darting left and right, over the lake and upon the benches--there. That one had to be her, and the Exorcist rushes forward, stopping abruptly just a foot away, and looks her over. Scars...]

Cissnei?

[blacksuited]

Cissnei!

[ Aha, there she is-- Cissnei spots Lenalee with a wave of her hand and, although she'd never say so, with just that much relief. It's odd, feeling relieved-- because that meant she'd felt vulnerable in this foreign place-- and Turks were never vulnerable.

Cissnei blames the lack of sleep and the worry over her mission. That's it.]

Cissnei?

[ Cissnei bites her lip, feeling somewhat self-conscious- the scars must hardly be appealing- but offers a hand anyway. ]

Lenalee. Well met.

[skycrossing]

[Lenalee smiles assuringly, lifting her hand in response, but as her eyes catch sight of the cuts, she instead uses them to turn the Turk's hands over in order to inspect the wounds. To Lenalee, scars could bother her less, but the fresh scratches staining her palms red worried her more.]

Did you fall?

[blacksuited]

Oh-!

[ Cissnei can't help the muted sound of surprise that escapes her as Lenalee reaches for her hands and tenses up- but the Exorcist's smile is comforting and she relaxes, letting her hands be looked at. It's odd. No one's ever shown this kind of interest in her well-being before, certainly not for cuts on hands.

It's different, and... nice. She smiles back. ]

Kind of. I'm afraid seeing these things all over me took me off guard.

[skycrossing]

It's all right, I completely understand. [her lips curl, the outline of a laugh] When I got here, my first curse made me feel... um, quixotic? Not...as startling or something I noticed myself when it started. But remember what I told you? These only last for a week, and usually if you're lucky, not the whole seven days.

Come, my place is about a fifteen minute walk from here. It would be best not to let these - [she raises the girl's hands indicatively] - sit too long. I think you encountered a stone, judging by this one.

[ Cissnei listens and nods along, not really sure what to say but understanding that Lenalee's trying to comfort her. It's hard to ignore the scars- twisting, turning, deep, white- but Cissnei forces herself to do so anyway. ] I hope they don't last a day longer, actually. [ She laughs a little. ]

Ah- I didn't quite notice what I hit. Something jagged. [ Beginning to walk, she looks at Lenalee inquisitively. ]

So... do you and your friend Kanda live together?

[skycrossing]

[And she laughs with her, even though it's more of a sigh. Lenalee completely understands, yet at the same time she can only say so much to warn the girl of the accursed possibilities. The Exorcist snaps her head towards the Turk, surprised but not disturbed by the question. It seemed a strange thing to ask, then again, there wasn't much she knew about her to inquire on...]

Oh, yes, him and another friend named Lavi. Compared to Kanda, he's really energetic and outgoing. He'll be your friend before you know it! ...ah, I hope you don't mind, though, straying with strangers, especially if two of three are guys. Does that bother you?

[ Cissnei chuckles to hear the comparison between Kanda and Lavi, the latter whom she'd also talked with, and then shakes her head. She notes, too, the surprise with which Lenalee had turned to her. ]

No, not at all; I'm rather used to male company. Actually, I'm surprised you don't mind letting me stay with you. It's very kind of you.

...I hope you didn't mind my question, I just wondered because you two seemed close. When we spoke.

[skycrossing]

Just giving a helping hand to someone who needs it. [folds her arms behind her, smile brightening] Besides, you don't really need a reason to help nice people.

[hearing cissnei's judgment, lenalee's brows bend and she shakes her hair, denying stray thoughts.]

Oh, well, yes and no. I guess you can call him a childhood friend. He's helped me a lot, and I cherish him very dearly.

(ooc: OTL sorry this is so late! been bogged with homework.)

[ Cissnei hums thoughtfully. ] You know, I've been thinking the same, recently. [ And also realizes she was just called nice and smiles back softly. .w. ] But not many people would do such kind things, all the same.

[ She nods as they continue walking along. ] He sounds like a good person at heart.

I hope he doesn't mind my staying with you three.

[tosses her head to the side, pursing her lips pensively.]

Mm, he won't, but he'll probably seem annoyed about it. Ignore that, if that happens. He's like a grumbly dog. He accepts new things irritably but doesn't outright reject them.

If he gives you any trouble, just tell me, and I'll bonk him on the end, hehe.

(ooc: I knooow. Especially if it's numbers OTL. By the by, I just want to let you know that THE DAY AFTER THIS LOG or so I think, Lenalee and Kanda fight Sephiroth, and Lenalee gets...very...hurt. She's been in bed for a week, unconscious, but she's awake now, and is of course wondering where Cissnei has gone, assuming she left soon after. Just an fyi so you're not confused about what's happened!)

[ Tired, lonely, hungry and worried-- but this description of Kanda still shocks a laugh out of Cissnei and she raises a hand to her mouth. ]

Thank you. I'll be sure to keep that in mind should he do so.
