Clovis felt very much like he had been struck with a giant dose of hyperactivity. He wandered from painting one of the walls a hideous shade of pink -- throwing other colors on top of it, not to make it appear polka-dot, but so that they would mesh together in such a hideous shade that it would be offensive to the eyes. Breaking his rule of always creating something beautiful or pleasing (if only to him) when he were to paint something. Then rushing about to the door in order to rescue those that will be taken in by the General. Stopping at the door and running to tackle and hold onto Sephiroth.
"This breaks my rule of loving my own personal space. I'm hating this so much and yet so long as it is breaking a rule it's fine." He whined, mostly to himself than to explain his reasons to the General he was hanging off of. "WHERE IS JADE!" It seemed just as he called out for his knight; Jade appeared.
Few seconds and he was latched onto Jade as well -- the open door was just too tempting. "Rule-breaking, rule-breaking." He mumbled to himself. "Must break the rules of the curse."
Absently, he watched Clovis paint. Trying to stop the man, he was slowly learning, was really all for naught in the end. Sighing to himself, he glanced absently down at the few paint brushes sitting on Clovis's -- well, technically his -- night stand.
He scooted them into his pocket quietly and averted his gaze to the side suspiciously.
And when he's practically pile-drived, he tilts back a little bit until he tiiiilts back forward. If this had been a cartoon, there would have been a creaking sound, like a decrepit old haunted house's door.
But this was not a cartoon, so there is only Sephiroth staring down at Clovis impassively.
"Let g--" And sooner than he had it out, he had indeed let go.
It looks like he had arrived just in time. In fact, had he waited any longer to show up he was pretty sure that Clovis would have tried to redo the whole outside of the house in moss and rare flowers, thus upsetting the city gardners. And half the city as well, more than likely.
Opening the door, he caught Clovis clinging to the poor General and gave him a momentary look of pity. ...that was, of course, laced with a snicker. He was just glad that it was the other man and not h-
...him. He should have known that speaking too soon was always a thing that happened when Clovis was around. The blond was unpredictable and he just kept proving it over and over. Stumbling back a few steps, he somehow managed to keep his balance and hold the Prince up.
"Ah. It's a pleasure to see you as well, Dear." His words were tongue-in-cheek.
"Personal rules. Pleasure to see you as well, Jade." He said in a manner that was somewhat pained. Breaking rules that he would normally be annoyed (which he was) and say something particularly snarky at this moment. The more small rules broken, the better.
"The door." Clovis's hand shot out to grab the side of the door before slamming it shut. "Loud noises are vexations to the soul. Social rule against slamming doors." He continued to mutter to himself and give him reason for breaking these small rules to keep himself from leaving to break the bigger rules of the city. At least, things had not dissolved so horribly that he would have to become unclothed in order to break societal rules of being clothed. It was his last ditch effort if he could not be tied down soon enough.
"Ah, hurry up and tie us up. Sephiroth has the same symbol as I do and he will want to break rules as well. But I won't let him. I'm breaking the rule of your curse of wanting you to break rules by keeping you here so you can't break rules." Clovis continued to cling onto Jade as he pointed at the General in a manner which could really only be described as an 'aha.' If he had to suffer and be tied up, others had to suffer and be tied up.
... every so often, Neku actually paused to listen to what the other inhabients were doing. Of course he didn't usually--it became all too apparent that he needed to grow into his years, since they were all freakishly tall. He hated the thought of being looked down upon, too. Today, though... it was hilarious to watch, though his smile was hidden by the abnormal collar of his shirt. With leftover minestrone still in his bowl, he paused in the hallway where the other men seem to have congregated.
--and then it shut. He raised his eyes and brought the bowl to his lips, taking slow sips and just staring.
These guys were all older than him. Why hadn't they grown out of this stupid stuff? It really had to be the collars, huh...
He merely watched impassively, slipping more small items in his pockets (even those that belonged to himself), listlessly lolling his vision from the rampantly hyper Prince to the silent new kid. ... How had they wound up with him again? ... Well, at the very least, it wasn't as erratic as Clovis's arrival. He was still annoyed with Zek over that. 500 squats and 100 laps around the barrier with a burning collar would be for him when he stopped acting like a kleptomaniac.
He sighed. Clovis? Was going to try and tie him up? ... The idea of swiping the ropes to tuck in his pocket and only pretend he was tied up suddenly slipped across his mind.
Tempting.
He examined the youngest. ... Oh, how his shirt shimmered.
So ... shimmery.
Seph scooted over discreetly. Still examining Clovis's antics, he tilted his head quietly and took another small scoot, even his leather keeping quiet. It was with a warm sensation to Neku's opposite side (the quiet green glow of a cure, surely) that he would pull the boy's attention away, dexterous little digits plucking a pin away from him in total silence.
"Sorry, your royal highness. I'll remember next time." He was pretty sure the whole house was comprised of nutjobs, but that was nothing new. He'd reserve to make a better judgment at a later time - when Clovis was demanding to be tied of and bringing people into it with him. In all honestly, Jade was mildly surprised that Clovis didn't mention wanting to type up the kid as well.
"I thought you only wanted me to tie you up, your Highness. I didn't realize this was being turned into a group activity."
There was the smallest of pauses. "Isn't the kid a bit young for this?"
"Sephiroth is under my command." Came the response even though it really wasn't true at all. Just didn't want to admit that he did not want to suffer alone. "Hm? No. Why would he be too young for it?" Completely missing the point as he was trying to keep himself in the house as much as possible; he somewhat had ADD'd out of the conversation to greener pastures of what rules he could continue to break in their residence.
"Ah, need to paint more of the walls pink and brown -- " Clovis clung onto Jade's neck just a few seconds long before finally letting go so that he could wander about to look for said brushes. Nowhere to be found. His hands went to his hair before pointing dramatically at the two in the room. "How dare you steal from me! I'm not mad about it, actually. Breaking rules like that is all well and good, but I needed those brushes to break my rules and now I can't..."
Without further ado, he walked over to slap the bowl out of Neku's hands -- just another stop in his rampage around the house. "Where to be tied, where to be tied? Nothing seems like it will be sturdy enough!" Clovis yelled, not quite explaining why he had slapped the bowl from his hands, but didn't quite care that he hadn't either.
Neku, still recovering from his choking from when Jade had proclaimed him 'too young for it', had been about to bring the liquid to his lips again, to help--and then it was shoved from his hands, onto the floor. That promptly made him stumble back, and effectively swallow the offending piece of carrot. What the fuck is your pro--
His anger quickly ebbed away once he remembered that it wasn't really the idiot prince guy that was doing all this bullshit. It was really the collar. That's all it was. It was like they were being mind-controlled. Putting a hand against his head, he tried to think of something.
Maybe he should just get out of the house. Or stay in his room. Looking at Clovis' back, he quietly muttered, "Maybe you should tie yourself to the clocktower. That's not moving."
Oh, gooooood. His prey hadn't noticed! Jade's jokes fell inert on him as he rested a hand under his chin. Hm. How to steal more ...
Mm, look at those ... beautiful purple headphones. He liked those. He thought they would look good with his silver hair and black outfit. The perfect color combination, edgy and classy all at the same time. Gloved digits hovered the boys head for a moment.
Damn. Too bad he didn't have a Time Materia to just freeze him before he realized.
Still, maybe if he moved quickly enough ... He could go for it. Or do the Old Indiana Jones trick. Yessss. Snatching the boy's headphones off his head quickly, he, in turn, sat a small bean-bag he had been squeezing as a stress reliever earlier on top of the orange locks, tucking the headphones inside of the front of his jacket, naturally not ralizing they were still attached to the MP3 player hanging from his neck.
But it was all right. Aaaall was accooording to plaaaan.
Turning his attention to the boy for a moment, he simply flashed him a smile. "That's a good idea. However, we can't just leave him to the wolves out there. We're going to have to be a bit nicer than that." Plus, it would be breaking some rule about tying people up in public. He was sure of it. But tying him up in private? He could just explain that one away as a kink of theirs. Where there was a will to find a way around a rule, there was a way (even if a certains someone had an unnatural desire to try and uphold them.)
"We're tying the Prince up. Would anybody like to help me with this? We're going to need a decent chair. I have the rope, so we're pretty much set here." He had gone through great lengths in order to procure the best rope around that he could find. And afford. He momentarily thought about bringing a gag, too, but then he realized that would be detrimental to keeping the Prince alive.
The paint which he had been messing with was grabbed to throw it onto both ceiling and walls -- in a grand arch of pastel color. The door was not spared from this splattering. Nor was the floor and some of the bits of furniture that they had. Clovis's hands continued to twitch slightly as he listened to Neku's suggestion to where he should be tied up. That wouldn't work, no, he'd chew through the ropes and try to do more evil deeds. Even if the small deeds that he was doing in the house were not much -- if only somewhat annoying.
This was really taking too long and he had to break more rules. He wandered around the room much like some addict, trying to find his next fix. Straightening his posture, he was closest to Sephiroth and responded in such by pulling his arm back to strike the General hard in his shoulder. Assault as it were. Only as soon as his fist carried through with the blow -- he felt as though he had just started punching a brick wall. His hand gave way and he screamed in agony. He had broken a finger and rushed over to where Jade was. His knight had to do something!
As soon as Sephiroth snatched them, he just leaned forwards, activating the pin on his shirt and sending out a mixture of what felt like bullets of pure energy right towards Sephiroth's face. Sorry, Mr. Tall, Dark and Scary, but those were his. And he wasn't an idiot--he was practically born with them. He'd feel weird if he didn't have them on. "I don't really care if wolves get 'em or not. They need to go somewhere that's not here." He stated shortly, hand ready with his Shockwave pin if Sephiroth advanced. He may have his weakest pins, but they were packed with a punch if you considered the scrawny kid utilizing them.
He kept his eyes on the foreign General, ignoring Clovis' whines about his finger.
The glance at Clovis is blank and absent as he watches the Prince nurse his throbbing hand, which of course naturally distracts from Neku's incoming bullets. They scathe along his skin, burning painfully as he realized with a somewhat delayed reflex that the quick twist of his sword deflects the bullets as they shiiiing off the blade. Turning his vision back to the small boy, he blinks at the kid's determined face. It only takes a moment to profess his innocence ... but he sighs and hands the item back over with slight pout.
He declined to help Jade, grabbing Clovis roughly by the wrists and man-handling him down to the chair, tying down his wrists to the back tightly, trying not to overdo it with the possibility of the ropeburn.
Stepping back to look at his handiwork, he nodded ...
"I suppose getting along is beyond reason now. You guys remind me of some others I once know. It's quite heart-warming, really." Sometimes he felt right at home. Other times, he wanted to do a facepalm at the whole ordeal. Everyone was acting like a bunch of children. Was he the only sane one around? Actually, he really wouldn't doubt it if he was, given everything he's found so far. And has seen.
In the meantime, he didn't even bother helping Sephiroth tie up Clovis since the other man did a fine enjoy job. In the meantime, he turned his attention to Neku.
"My cravat!" Clovis screamed; if his hands were not bound at his sides he would have gone up to make dramatic sweeps of his arms with his hands. "How dare you! My bare neck is exposed!"
His chin slammed down on his chest, feeling utterly exposed, regardless that it was a last ditch effort to ensure that he would stay in the house -- he did not actually wish to be without clothes! Even if it was just that which covered his neck; he still felt so naked. Everyone could see what symbol he had now and his shirt was messed up.
There were things that were stronger than the curse's influence, it seemed, like Clovis's desire to remain fashionable and covered up as much as possible!
"Jade! Do something!" The chair did not bounce so much as wobble from side to side, before he almost tipped over on his side. Almost as Kaylee had come in to see what all the noise was about and was on the side that he was going to fall over on and kept him from doing so purely by being a brace. "Neku! Get that back! It's made of the finest silks..."

He pocketed the new shiny.
And he mentally labeled it ... his shiny.
