Dear Vidder, thank you so much for making this video! Cheers to you! :D
I am ridiculously easy to please (seriously), so have fun! Slash, femslash, het, gen = all good. I don't want you to feel restricted. However, if you *want* more direction, here are some thoughts/preferences.
Luther (2010):
My favorite characters are John, Alice, Mark, Gray, Jenny, & Ripley. So a video about any one of them or any combination would be great.
I have a soft spot for John/Mark and John/Mark/Alice. Poor Mark.
And of course John/Alice is always, always excellent.
I also loved John & Jenny's almost father-daughter relationship in the 2nd series.
The detective team of Luther/Ripley/Gray had some interesting dynamics too, especially Gray/Ripley.
Homicide: Life on the Street:
H:LotS is possibly my favorite show of all time. You could do anything with this show and I'd love it. I love all the characters--including the later season ones that a lot of fans didn't like (Ballard, Sheppard, etc).
A Kay Howard character study would be AMAZING.
Favorite characters: Kay Howard, Frank Pembleton, Tim Bayliss, Meldrick Lewis, Mike Kellerman, & Terri Stivers.
Favorite partnerships/pairings: Pembleton/Bayliss, Lewis/Kellerman, Howard/Munch, Bayliss/Sheppard.
A general/overview or ensemble vid would also be wonderful. A focus on minor/guest characters could be interesting as well.
Warehouse 13:
I love Claudia! Geek love yeah. Anything about her would be great. I love her relationship with Artie & also with Steve. OH, STEVE.
I love Myka and HG Wells, separately or together. So a character study about either one, or a vid about their relationship would be wonderful. I ship Myka/HG like whoa.
Also love Myka's partnership with Pete. They make hilarious faces at eachother. :P
Mrs. Frederick is awesome.
A general, fun, quirky overview would also be good. Or maybe a history of the warehouses. Basically, I like it all.
Undercovers:
Sam is my favorite, so a video about her would be great.
Sam/Steven are adorable together and ridiculously in love. The Blooms!
Sam/Steven/Leo OT3 makes me REALLY happy. <3
Spy shenanigans!
Moon (safety):
I loved how quiet & atmospheric this movie was. Sam Rockwell's performance is so fantastic & understated. I don't have any suggestions or preferences for this one. I just think it'd be great vidding material. Feel free to play with longer, lingering shots.
Wallander (2008, Kenneth Branagh version):
A character study (either of Wallander or one of the other supporting characters), ensemble, or even just a mood piece. It's all good.
I think his relationship with his daughter is really interesting.
Like Moon, this has a lot of gorgeous, quiet, (and often depressing) moments.
Day Break (2006):
Brett! I'd love a video about Brett trying to figure it out and work through all the craziness and disappointments and trying so hard to make things right.
Brett/Rita is good.
I also enjoyed Brett/Chad's push & pull rivalry relationship, and Brett/Andrea's partnership. Also, his relationship with Jim Beaver's character was interesting.
Basically: BRETT = <3. Plus, Taye Diggs is super hot.
Revenge (2011):
Oh, delicious, delicious revenge--The Count of Monte Cristo style. Mwahaha! I was not expecting to like this show, but it's become my guilty pleasure. I'd love a video showing Emily-Amanda being smart & sneaky, taking everyone down like a BAMF.
Music is up to you! I can't think of a genre I hate as a rule, so it's all good. I am often discovering new music through vids, so feel free to introduce me to something.
If you want more direction music-wise, here are some examples of specific artists I like (in no particular order, off the top of my head):
Tori Amos, Nine Inch Nails, Empires, Florence & the Machine, Tom McRae, Afghan Whigs, Tegan & Sara, Lisa Hannigan, Placebo, Dessa, Mumford & Sons, Bjork, Iron & Wine, Amanda Ghost, Kosheen, Ani DiFranco, Guster, The Gossip, Sarah Slean, Paloma Faith, Depeche Mode, The Cure, Sufjan Stevens, Kate Nash, A Perfect Circle, Adele.
I like instrumental music too, so feel free to go in that direction instead if you want. (I also, possibly, have been known to sing along loudly while driving to pop/dance music like Britney Spears, Rihanna, & Ke$ha.)
