So, apparently, NBC is planning to
remake the UK series Prime Suspect. How did I not know about this before? My knee-jerk reaction is: Nooooooooooooooo. (Because no one can replace Helen Mirren in that role.) But I'll try to keep an open mind about it. The thing is, it's going to all come down to casting. Some comments on another article brought up Mary McDonnell, which would be an awesome choice. I would watch that show in a second. However, knowing US television and its older-woman-phobia, I suspect the lead character will be in her 20s. But, again, open mind attempt, maybe they'll surprise me.
They're also remaking The Rockford Files, if anyone was a fan of that. Remakes, remakes, remakes. I'm usually a fan of remakes, but the remake-palooza is getting a little out of hand.
