Merlin 2x10

This episode reminded me of a Shakespeare comedy.

Arthur & Gwen laughing together outside Vivienne's door at the beginning was adorable.

Merlin teasing Arthur about his crush on Gwen, also adorable.

The entertainment was a magic act. When magic is banned. Ok, then. I guess they thought it was fake magic. If so, they, what? Thought the Jester had trained dozens of butterflies to just hang out in his jacket? Ok. *handwave, handwave*

Another episode with hardly any Morgana. Boo. What the hell, writers? Apparently she spent this episode drunk at a window. AND I DO NOT BLAME HER.

Oh Gwen, I love you so very much. Seeing her sad makes my heart sad. :(

Bradley James, however, has fantastic comedic timing.

Arthur: I need your help in expressing my feelings.
Merlin: Of course.
Arthur: *stares expectantly*
Merlin: ...
Arthur: How do I express my feelings?
Merlin: Oh, I see.

I'm not even commenting about this line:

Bad King (Whose Name I Forget): Every woman in the land is attracted to this boy! I'm almost attracted to him myself.

See how I'm not commenting on that?

Arthur is a ridiculously heavy sleeper. I mean, c'mon! Apparently, the Jester could have done a jig on his head without waking him up. Well, he's a heavy sleeper except when it comes to Merlin. Then he's almost guaranteed to wake up.

Awwww, Gwen/Arthur is adorable! I know the show pushed their romance on us quite suddenly this season, but I still can't help but love those crazy kids. <3

Vivienne is stuck being under a love spell, which squicks me out. Since apparently there is no way to undo the spell without a kiss from her true love, she's probably going to be psychotically pining for Arthur for the rest of her life. What a horrible fate! I mean, I know they needed the One True Love kiss for the Gwen/Arthur storyline, but wow, that sucks for Vivienne. In order to stop being squicked out, I'm going to pretend that she does indeed have a true love at home who will surprise kiss her and break the spell...or else there's a time limit on the spell and it fades away. Because otherwise, no.

(PS. Needs more Morgana & OT4, please.)
