But really don't have too much to say about each show.
Leverage 2x02:
I LOVE THIS SHOW AND ALL THE CHARACTERS. Ok, just had to get that out of the way. *g* I loved Eliot & Sophie's conversations about the sport and why the fighters fight. I loved Eliot's explanation about needing control over something in your life, and his "I can take punishment" lines. I feel like that was an interesting glimpse into his character, without hitting us over the head with Deep Insight. (Note to self: need Leverage icons.)
Dark Blue 1x02:
SIGH. I had so much hope for this show after the pilot. SO MUCH. This episode was the definition of "meh." It wasn't bad, but it wasn't interesting. It was bland. It was exactly like a dozen other cop action movies I've seen over the years: undercover cop accidentally puts his family in danger, blah blah blah. I did really like that the wife was the one who kept telling him to leave, asking why he was there, worried that he was contacting her. I liked that she wasn't trying to convince him to spend more time with her. She understood (apparently better than him) that it is necessary to avoid all contact while a case is ongoing. That was a nice change from most of the cop movies with this same storyline.
I also liked the final scene when Dylan McDermott (Carter?) went to Dean's place to ask/confront him about the money. There was an interesting tone to that exchange, like Carter can see Dean becoming more morally ambiguous and feels responsible for him, but can't do anything to change it. Other than that...meh. (Also, that title wasn't kidding. I think half the episode took place in a strip club.) Since I did really love the pilot, I'm hoping this episode is just a blah episode and it will get better.
Warehouse 13 1x03:
I liked this episode more than the previous one. Yes, it's a silly show, but it has a certain...charm? Also, ok, ok, Pete is growing on me. I admit it! I actually liked him in this. I love their sibling relationship. (Dear Show, please keep their relationship platonic & brother-sister-ish.)
Castle:
I finished all of Castle.
Yay! I really liked it. It was slow to grow on me, but by the end I loved it. I ended up loving everybody--Castle, Kate, the daughter, the mother, the other cops. I'm glad this has been renewed because I'd hate to end it on that "I know what happened to your mother" cliffhanger. Speaking of, I get that Castle is the main character, and therefore the show wants him to solve & figure things out, but, especially with the mother's cold case, it makes the police look really incompetent (and this happens a lot in shows where one special character solves something that the police have missed). He had only been looking into the cold case for a short while, had one expert look at the evidence...You're telling me that no other cop thought to look at similar murders that happened around the same time period? Seriously? No one else ever thought of those things? It just makes the police and Kate look stupid (considering she spent years on it). Of course, the show may come back and Kate will be all, "Yeah, I know that. That's not news." Who knows.
I sound like that really bothered me, but it's just a tiny nitpick. *handwave handwave* Overall, I loved this show and these characters and am so happy it's returning.
