multividious Visual, physical representations of language. The written word. Text. Symbols. Reading. How can this be incorporated or used within a video? I thought the August/September challenge was as good a time as any to explore this, with so many people going back to school and cracking open the books again.
You have total freedom in your interpretation. Here are a just few possibilities:
- Layer your own text over the footage. Perhaps a quote, perhaps a simple word. Maybe something similar to typography? It could be just a couple subtle words here & there. It could be overflowing with text.
- Utilize writing, words, or reading found within the source's own scenes: books, tattoos, road signs, chalkboards, computer screens, codes & symbols, scribbled messages on notepads, etc. (If you ever wanted to make a video about characters reading books, here ya go!)
- Maybe visual representations of language can be something other than literal writing. Perhaps you'd like to explore something like body language or symbolism instead.
- Movie trailer-style vids with inserted text cards ("In a world where...")
Written text does not have to mean only English. Feel free to incorporate other languages.
As always:
-- Any length (vidlets welcome!)
-- Any type of music
-- Any subject or style
-- As this is a multifandom/crossover/multi-source community, make sure that the video includes at least 2 different fandoms/sources. Please see the community's profile & FAQ/Rule pages for more detail.
Challenge ends in 8 weeks on October 3rd.
