Sad, Joy, & Fandom
On a very sad note, my flist informs me that Don S. Davis has passed away. He'll always be General Hammond and Scully's Dad to me. :(
And in a 180 turn of emotion, More Joy Day is this Thursday, July 3rd.
Also, the livelongnmarry auction kicks off today, July 1st. This is a fannish-based auction (but also includes many non-fannish items) in support of marriage equality--specifically to raise money "for the fight against the California initiative which will legally destroy existing same-sex marriages and ban any further ones." Check out the community profile for more info. Bidding goes until July 15th. You can use the tags to see what kind of goodies are being offered. There are lots of fanworks (fic, art, vids), but also miscellaneous items & services (jewelry, baked goods, tarot readings, crafts, etc.). I believe people can still offer things, even though bidding has already started, but don't quote me on it. I'm very tempted to offer a vid, but I think I should restrain myself. I'll just have to bid lots. ;)
(I am so freezing right now. My work always cranks up the AC way too high in the summer. I made the mistake of wearing open-toed shows, and now my toes are like icicles!)
