recs: Oz vids by Frelling Tralk
I'm so obsessed with Oz lately. Oh, angst! HBO has been showing season 4 on Tues & Thurs at 11 pm, but the episodes aren't listed On Demand (they still have season 3 up). My Ryan O'Reily-as-Iago vid has been sitting on my computer untouched for quite a while. I think it's time I go back & finish that thing, but I keep seeing new scenes I want to include in the new (to me) episodes.

"Even in Death"

This is an AU narrative that works really well. Her summary: "The premise is that Keller has just died. And Beecher goes mad with grief and becomes haunted by Keller. The jerky bits are his memories. And by the end of it Beecher is completely lost inside his own head, and memories are getting mixed up with his hallucinations of Keller." Brilliant! The shots meant to be Keller's ghost/Beecher's hallucinations are really great. One quick one has Beecher walking through a door with Keller in the background following him. Another has Beecher carefully approaching Keller sitting on the floor in the dark. In the actual scene, Keller's smoking a cigarette, but the way she edited this, we don't see the cigarette. It looks like there's smoke surrounding or coming off of Keller. Nicely done.
"Tainted Love"
Music by Marilyn Manson

Great song choice. This song pretty much describes their relationship to a tee. Sexy & dark. Some of the clips are a little long, but I think it works with the video. Favorite bits: Keller slamming the shank down to get Beecher's attention is perfectly in sync with the beat. I'm sorry, I don't pray that way while Keller pushes his forehead against Beecher's, who's unconscious & tied to a chair. Don't touch me please, I cannot stand the way you tease with Beecher mocking Keller getting stabbed. I absolutely love the ending--Keller tears off the tape on Beecher's mouth & kisses him. End. *love*
"I Hate Everything About you"

This opens with such a great dialogue exchange between Keller & Sister Pete:
Sister: I know that Tobias was in love with you, and that you broke his arms and his legs.
Keller: Well, Jesus Christ. You put it that way, it makes me sound so cold.
Oh, Chris. How I miss you. Like "Tainted Love," this is a perfect song choice. If ever there was a love-hate relationship, Keller & Beecher are it. The video opens with them attacking eachother--which pretty much says it all. Again, some of the clips run a little long, but I think it works. Quick bit I love: Keller with his arms up, being pushed away to after every hit we take. There's a major spoiler for the series finale at the end, which is also a great ending for the video itself.
