Trip Down Memory Lane

Apr 29, 2009 02:44

So I was cleaning out my filing cabnets and desk drawers and came across a few gems of yesteryear. Or a few things that might cause nightmeres. Either way, I have decided to share a few before I toss them away.

Oh, apparently I was going to call a fic once Amans Somnii  (Lover's Dream).  I kinda like that.  Might still use it.

This is a scene that I wrote. Who is speaking, I have no idea. In fact I only knew it was Atlantis because Rodney is mentioned.

"What should we do first?"

"This was your idea. Surely, you have a plan."

"Actually, it was Rodney's idea. I just happened to think it was a good one."

"Well, you already started early with the new windows."

"You can shut up now you know. Did you get what I asked?"

"Yes"

Theodora was one of those rare people who loved thunderstorms. However, four days of terrancial rainfall tried even her. She was only on the rainy planet because she had agreed to fill in for Teyla as neogociater while the Athosian woman had a few months of maternity leave.

The team had been there only a few hours when the rain begain

(Short I know.)

Rodney couldn't get out of the car.  They sat in front of his sister's house for a few minutes in silence.  Elizabeth had driven because he didn't have the conidence in him making it all the way there without turning back.

Rodney nearly jumped out of his seat whens omeone knocked on his window.  He looked out to find a small girl smiling at him.  He rolled down the window.

"Mom says to come in.  Dinner's almost ready.

Rodney looked over to Elizabeth who smiled reassuringly at him.  He looked back at the girl and opened his door hearing Elizabeth open hers .

"Have you and Helena found anything yet?" Rodney asked quietly.

"No," John answered.  "She's still trying to translate the text with Gramn and Forla's help.   So far she's only got how it happens but not how to reverse it.  Gramn thinks we should scan you for devices."

"Devices?"

"She believes the pain comes from a device. Helena isn't as sure."

"What is going on between you two? Your reactiuons to each other are on the odd side since you returned.  The switch back and forth from friendly to animostity."

"Several issues, none of which I particularly feel like sharing."

After deciding that watched computers don't find, John and Dora enlisted the help of Radek Zelenka to investigate the room itself. After Radek disconnected the switch from whatever ran the room, the trio walked around the room. It was very plain and cubed. The walls and ceilings were a deep blue color while the floor was a glowing white.

It gave Dora the creeps.

Walking around there was nothing to be found that would distinguish this room till Radek found a doorway in the floor in the far corner. It lifted to revel a stairway leading down to what appeared to be an underground labatory.

Liz opened her eyes and found herself in a ballroom.  Around her danced men and women in fancy balldresses and elaborate masks.  Looking down she found herself wearing a slightly alternate version of Mia's dress.  She was wearing a neclace her grandmother had give her when she had graduated from school.

Elizabeth found Rodney in the ship's dinning area, drinking cofee and staring out into the distance.  He had just been released from the infirmary after his bout with radation.  She was glad to see him outside again, if only to reassure her that he was well.

She sat down beside him silenty, knowing he knew she was there.  He smiled at her before sipping from his cup.

"What are you thinking about?"

"Jeanne"

"Ah."

"I managed to get her security clearance."

"Really?  I'm surprised.  Laundry doesn't seem to like us much."  Rodney snorted.

"No, he doesn't"  He took another sip of coffee. "But he couldn't pass up the possibility of my sister working for him.  She's one of the best in her field."  Elizabeth smiled.  She was glad tht his relationship with his sister (...it ended there)

Chapter One: The Reformation

Ron entered the room despite his instict to run. Harry had wanted to met the Reformation and as his second in command Ron needed to met them as well. Hermione had accompanied them for support.

Two days ago, the Slyhterin Reformation, a group of unidentified Slytherings who fought thier own way against Voldemort, had contracted Harry about meeting. Ron had no idea why the famously unknown would want to be known.

The room had eight cloaked figures sitting at the table.

"Weasley, Potter, a word."  Ron shared a look with Harry and followed the two slytherins out the door into the terrence.  Ron was surprised to see the looks of anger in their faces.

"What right to do you have," Blaise stated, "to come here after what you did.  I know you had me but are you really that unthoughtful towards Hermione and Ginny to show up like this?"

"There is no way I am allowing my wife to marry the likes of you."

"So you're hurting your baby sister and your wife because of your hatred of Slytherins?"  Draco commented.

Harry looked guilty but Ron hadn't caught on.

"Hermione wouldn't marry a Slytherin willingly."

"I would NEVER force Hermione."

"You know, I thought by now we would have grown up." Draco mused.  "It seems only some of us have."

"Stand up Girl!"  The older woman circled aroudn her, accessing her as she went.  "Bad posture will make no friends in society.  You want people to be in awe of you."

Christina Mongtague's mission was to turn this girl in front of her, Angelina Johnson, into a woman prepared for society.  Angie's mother Caroline had been her best friend during her years at Hogwarts.  Carrie was unable to prepare her daughter for presentation due to limited resources and illness.  Chrissy had taken on the responability, excited as she had only sons (Alexander and Benvolio).  If she had her way, Angelina would be the best looking debutante.

"We need to work on your sense of style.  Your clothes are ill fitting.  Do you know how to dance?"

"No Mam."  Chrissy sighed.

The room they were inclosed in was far from what he was used to but it was after all, a prison.    It was about twenty feet square  with a cot in one corner and a hole in the other that was used as a bathroom.    He sowre he could see the germs that resided on the floor and he certianly damned his sense of smell.  The dugons of his home were as unclean as ever, having not been toally cleansed since the Midde Ages.  It didn't help that the other occupant was one of the few people he rather not be with, the others being Voldemort nad Biten.

(I have no idea who Biten is)

Chapter 4 1977

Regulus was putting away his camera equipment when Athena walked into the Slytherin common room.  It was mostly empty, as few had the period off like he did and the seventh years were all out and about.  He should be with them, he knew, to prove his loyality to the cause, but something held him back.

Athena Malfoy had always been in his lief.  Thier familes had generations of buisness and political connections  They had finally decided to make a familar one as weel when he was three years old.  It was one of his earliest memories, sitting in the parlor of his Grandfather Black's manor hearing his borther recieving his fate-family duty to marry Athena and combine the two great pureblood dynasties.  Once he was older and had found out that girls weren't as bad as they seemed he had been jealous of his brother.  Not the lack of choice, but because hewas guarenteed Athena.

He had a crush on her.  He was smart emough to realise that he wasn't in love with her but...(it trails off there)
