Fic: She was just Seventeen (Angel) Imcomplete

Jul 28, 2007 23:35

As you may have caught on, I'm house cleaning here.  This is an incomplete start to a fic.

Title: She was Just Seventeen
Rating: PG-13 for references
Category: Romance/General
Summery: Before She ever knew Angel, before she was in Pylea, Fred met him. She never remembered until he kissed her again.

Author Notes: I am taking Fred as being about 26 years old in season Five. They met her during Season 2 so she was 23 when she was pulled out of Pylea. This story takes place when she was seventeen, which is about the time I think she would have gotten taken to the other dimension. I have her as freshmen in College. She skipped a grade.

Winifred Burkle walked around the College’s community fair with a smile. She loved the old town and its fair was no exception. The fair celebrated the annual anniversary of the towns founding. This was extra special because it was the centennial celebration. The stores and booths were going to be opened all day and night for the duration of the week.

Fred, as her friends called her, had come to the college only the year before. She had received the school’s full scholarship for her essay on modern physics. The small college was a world away from her home in Texas; it was in Sunny California, about forty-five miles away from LA. It was a whole new experience for her, but she loved the freedom it gave her.

She looked up at the dark sky. It was 10:30, and the crowds were thinning out. There were many who would stay for the entire night, but the other half would be returning about the same time the next morning. She was planning on staying for a few more hours.

“Don’t forget to get me a nice one.” He just nodded in response and traveled down stairs from the Hotel room he rented with Drucilla. He knew exactly what she wanted. Dru preferred the innocent young ones, said they were better tasting, He didn’t see the difference. Blood is blood.

Spike had already decided that he was going to have some fun first before bringing Dru her meal. He had no idea why she wanted to stay in, but she had been acting funny lately. Something about Angel being close by.

He walked out onto the street that was blocked off for the fair and started down it. He passed the various toss games looking around for someone to drink. None of the participants looked like they would be any good. That was when he saw her. He smiled. She was perfect. And Drucilla wasn’t even going to have her.

He walked up to her and pretended to pass by her, knocking into her shoulder. This caused her bag to fall on the street. He stopped and helped her pick the contents up. He smiled at her as they rose to stand. This was going to be fun.

Fred smiled at the man across from her. He had run into and helped her pick up her junk, but she had no idea of what to say to him. He was attractive, with the blue eyes, blonde hair and then there were those cheekbones. She could tell he wasn’t from around her the second he opened his mouth to say sorry for bumping into her. She thought it was British but she wasn’t sure.

“Thank you for helping me pick up my stuff.” She smiled a bit more; glad she hadn’t stuttered or rambled. Both had been a problem with her, although the stuttering thing was mostly when she was in first grade. She had gotten over it, but on occasion when she was really nervous it would come back.

“No problem. It was my fault after all.” She almost buckled when he smiled at her.
