Updates and Such
So it's been forever since I posted on here, but I was talking to someone and it reminded me of Livejournal! So how is everyone? I see a lot of you are still posting as religiously as you were previously, so the community obviously is still alive and well.
Since my last posts... I have moved to the US (and moved within the US from CA to AZ), gotten married (maybe I mentioned this before), and started working for Sony Online Entertainment. I am happy, so that's good, and our studio just re-launched one of our games (www.poxnora.com) with a new website, UI, and even a Facebook version (apps.facebook.com/poxnora). It's a table top battle game mixed with card game elements... so like MTG meets FF Tactics type of thing.
Designing video games (and note that this isn't testing nor programming) IS pretty much a dream job, assuming you like video games. I play games as work (it's research right?), mostly our own games, but yesterday we played a few games of Dominion, for example, and even the work side is of something that interests me a great deal! It's also pretty dynamic - aside from balancing our own games from a design perspective, there are also all kinds of other stuff that the design team is responsible for which make things interesting. The other day I worked with the artists to come up with new icons for the abilities/effects that are in our game, for example.
Anyway, if I remember, I will start posting again... maybe I should bookmark this thing.
Also, yay for Team Canada winning both Hockey Golds!
