“I'll be home soon, don't worry” Siwon tries to keep his voice calm and relaxed, to sooth the worrying man on the other end, yet even as he does, the sky above breaks as a barrel of thunder rolls free, jump starting the rhythm of his heart and is instantly followed by a clear blue bolt of lighting that lights his way.
He has enough water, candles and batteries in strained plastic bags in his hands to last out a week, he just hopes they don't need them for that long.
As he steps down the curb and hurries across the road, he knows that at home Ryeowook will be fussing around to tidy, as if torrential winds could knock down their wall, burying them in rubble and he would still be worried about their rescuers seeing dirty dishes in the sink.
With the bus service stopped he has a bit of a walk home from the only shop he could find that still had supplies, he just hopes it doesn't take too long like he had promised. With night settling in and the street lights starting to flicker on, he knows the storm will soon be upon them.
“Babe I'm home”, he calls out once he had negotiated the front door with his jangling key rings and hands full of shopping. Stepping in he hears a screech as a cat shoots past his leg and into the kitchen, evidently on edge, tail spiked before it shoots under the gap between the washing machine and fridge.
Looking up he smiles as he sees his flushed lover hurry from that same room, still in his apron as not even an impending hurricane would make Ryeowook think that marked clothes were acceptable.
“Oh good your back, quick put the latch on the door!” The petite man gestures to the door behind him, drying up cloth still in his hand, before he turns back to the kitchen with mutterings of 'kitty litter'.
Siwon can't help but chuckle lightly as he sets down the bags, but does as he's told and puts the latch over on the door, before emptying his pockets of keys and wallet onto the dish by it, and starts pulling off his winter layers.
“Ryeowook I don't think it's going to knock door to door” he smiles one of his characteristic, charming, care free smiles as he walks in after him to the kitchen, to see Ryeowook on all fours, trying to coax out the frightened kitty with a cat biscuit.
“Safety, Siwon!” Is his reply as he tries one more time to tell the cat to come out, before giving up with a huff and sits back. “She's been funny all evening, must know what's going to happen”. He sighs and starts getting up, only to jump lightly as arms wrap around him from behind and he feels Siwon's deep chuckle rumble against his back.
Ryeowook tuts and rolls his eyes as he feels Siwon lean in to lay kisses along his neck, lightly smacking his arm as this is no time for cuddling!
“Come on! We have to get your provisions put away!” He waggles a finger before pulling away to start dusting off the cat biscuit crumbs left on the counter. “Put the water in the fridge”.
Siwon grins as he watches him faff about, chuckling again as he shakes his head, “I thought the water was for when the power goes and the pipes get busted? Do you really need it chilled?” He leans towards him, grin widening as he sees Ryeowook pause to think.
“Well... we can use it to make iced tea with the day after if nothing happens, might as well get some use out of it, that stuff is so expensive! Plus they must have pushed the prices up even more when they knew everyone wanted it”.
Ryeowook shakes his head as he moves over to the sink to wash out the cat food bowl, as if the rescuers would really be looking that close.
Siwon's grin is still carefree and wide as he turns away to pick up the shopping bags and brings them back for unpacking.
“Canned pineapple? Really Siwon. It's going to be quite an interesting post apocalyptic diet we'll be having, and you didn't even get the diced kind! You know you get more in the diced tins then rings...”
Ryeowook shakes his head as he sets to unpacking the tins, Siwon's arms wrapping around him again as he does.
“It was all the shop had left, everyone had taken the sensible things, besides, you can make your yummy pineapple chicken with it when this whole thing is over”. Siwon smirks as he kisses his cheek, gaining himself a raised eye brow as Ryeowook wonders if this was all a plan to get the dish made.
Though a can drops from his hand with a thud, as a roar of thunder rumbles through the apartment, making Ryeowook squeak as he quickly turns in the man's hold, curling up against his chest as Siwon tightens his arms around him, looking over at the window worriedly.
The wind had really start to lash the now falling rain against the glass, the trees outside swaying violently as it all picked up.
“It just be getting closer” he mumbles as he rests his lips against Ryeowook's temple, though now quite sure that it was probably upon them already and it was time to batten down the hatches and get ready to see the thing through.
“Are you nearly all ready?” He says as he runs a hand down Ryeowook's back and looks down at him with kind eyes, as the very shaken looking male nods, and reaches behind him to undo the apron ties.
Nodding, Siwon slips away from him to get things ready, laying out candles and matches near at hand in their bedroom, closing all the curtains to keep any possible glass out and pops a few biscuits in the cat bowl for when she's ready to come out and with that done, he's ready to return to their room, where he finds Ryeowook sat on the edge of the bed, already in his fluffy pajamas.
By the time the storm had worsened, the thunder and lightning decorating the sky and wind raging havoc outside, Siwon has Ryeowook tightly curled up in his arms. The two of them sat by the side of the bed, cuckooed in blanket and lit by candle lightly, it may not be necessary yet, but it was a soothing touch.
Ryeowook's bunny faced slippers poking out of the blanket as he's tucked up under Siwon's chin.
“Did you put on clean underwear, just in case we have to be treated at a hospital?” Ryeowook whispers in a sleepy voice, unable to stop worrying about the silliest things, right up until the last point.
Siwon smiles softly as he places a kiss against the boy's shiny hair and closes his eyes, ready to sleep, happy just like this, not caring what's going on outside.
“Of course...” he says softly as there is a meow next to them, and the cat pads over, curling up close to join in.
“Er, Wookie what's this?”
Siwon frowns as he sits at the table the next morning, with a slightly achy back but none the worse for ware. The storm having come and gone while they were sleeping. Sun rays filtering down on the wind swept city as everyone awoke to another day, and Siwon's stomach was hungry for some breakfast.
"Pineapple!” Ryeowook replies as he turns back to him with his own bowl of pineapple rings. “Well, we've got eight tins to get through!” He gestures behind him to Siwon's fail attempt at getting provisions, which now meant a very fruity diet!
