Okay, now for a fun post! Beginning my new OOP (thanks, girls!) interests, I'd like to make an 1850s/1860s fancy day dress. Up here in Montana, there are several Wild West activities that happen in the summer. If I make a day dress first, I won't be overdressed in a ball gown for strolling through a ghost town, etc. I could certainly wear it to the Tea, too!
Personally, I won't go the high-necked day-dress route: I happen to have a mild case of neck-being-choked-phobia, so I don't wear high-necked things anymore. This makes it kinda tough when researching for dresses. I think I can still do the wide-shouldered style, mid-bicep sleeves, just with less fancy fabrics and mild lace. Not too many ruffles, I think. I like these two options:
Anyone have any other examples of dresses like these?
