Today was a pretty good day! Despite the fact that it was unproductive in any useful way (that is to say, I didn't get any significant amount of homework or housekeeping done). I actually woke up before noon and headed down the farmer's market with Kim and Dorthea. It was nice ;-) It was an absolutely beautiful fall day, sun and all, but still cool enough to remind you that it's October. Unfortunately we arrived to late to sample the sushi, but I am thinking I will have to get my ass out of bed even earlier and check that out next week. I did buy a LOVELY scarf from this kindly elderly lady who sounded Irish or Brittish or Scottish or something (she had an accent; I can't tell them apart). She seemed so happy that I bought her scarf! Well, she should be because it's freaking awesome. It's a dark, coffee brown colour and it's really long and hand knit. The material is very soft AND it has tassles on the ends. It was only ten bucks. This lady rawks. I also bought a pair of slippers for my mom. Mom loves those knitted slippers, and she could always use a new pair (her birthday is coming up at the end of this month!) The lady, Catherine I think her name was, insisted they would last forever. I hope so! Thanks lady!
I managed to buy a few groceries, such as milk and lettuce. Hopefully my lettuce won't go all brown on me again like it did last time. Argh that stupid schizophrenic fridge might drive us all to drink before too long x.X ;; Also some morons have been stealing things out of the kitchens, even down here. Way to go, assholes; that's our bloody food you're thieving. GRRRrrrrRR. Annoying.
I had a nap afterward. I fell asleep with the waterbottle on my bed, which is nothing new, but apparantly the lid wasn't screwed on tight becuase I woke up and realized I felt...wet? Sure enough, the damn thing had spilled on the bed, and SOAKED the middle of my mattress as well as my entire right leg. Yuck! I had to flip the mattress over.
Kim, Beth, Dorthea and I watched a modern version of Hamlet. I especially enjoyed it, but I could tell that it's definitely not a film for everyone. If you like Shakespeare, and don't mind modern adaptions that use Shakespearean language, it's great! Haha...really though the acting and the filmotography were really well done.
Finally I came back and worked on my part for the Vesuvius project in creative writing. I dunno if it will get done by Wednesday, but it's on track so hopefully they won't persecute me x.X ;
