Good Morning, Sunshine!
Well, it's going to be a good day. It didn't start off that way. I woke up at 6:40 and realized I had to leave in fifteen minutes to go get Chels. And I had meant to wake up at five, because I didn't have any of my homework done.
"Shannon, do you have anything important to do at school today? Nikki's sick and I really can't miss work... Would it be okay if you missed?"
YES!!!!!!!
So I went to get Chelsea, because of course, I wouldn't make her ride the bus. We went to Sterling Manor and I got a tall white chocolate mocha with extra white chocolate. And the sunrise was so pretty, pinks and purples splashed against clear, clear blue. Like opening a box of Crayola crayons. We met Jared and Amy Jo and Robyn there, and so I didn't have to take Chels all the way to Ryle, they took her and I came home.
It's 7:45, and I don't think I've ever been up at 7:45 if I didn't have to. But maybe I won't go back to sleep. Maybe some days are just too good to miss, and I want to be here for the whole thing.
Yeah, I have work this evening. But I'm making money, aren't I? And God knows I love money. The thing is, maybe something amazing doesn't have to happen for you to be happy. Maybe you just need to learn to appreciate what's already there.
And a day off from school doesn't hurt, either.
