[This has been a terrible couple weeks for one ex-Sergeant Farron, between Serah, Sora, Vanille, and Snow disappearing and the altercation with Leon that she doesn't know what to think of, even after almost two weeks. And with the last bit of hope she'd been holding to get Hope and the others home gone because getting the badges won't get them home, Lightning...really has a lot to think on.
So it's really no wonder that she's got a rather distant look in her eyes as she watches her recently evolved Camera-Chu and the newest addition to her team, Vanille's Cleffa, as they chow down on their own food.
It's also obvious that she didn't turn on the gear without a reason, and she lifts it from where it's watching the two little ones eat to look more directly into the camera. When she does, it's possible to see that she's also making something more akin to human food on the stove behind her, but she's left it alone for a bit too long and anyone watching will see a puff of grey smoke rising from the pan.
Anyone who's cooked in a Pokemon Center kitchen will know that the kitchen smoke detector is directly above the stove. So that tiny puff of greyish smoke? Yeah, it's setting the thing off, causing the shrill sound to begin with no warning. Spark jumps and nearly fries the microwave behind him in his shock, and Lightning the Cleffa immediately starts looking around like there's a threat.
