[There's only one reason Lightning would have headed down to Azalea, and it's obvious as the feed turns on. No, she didn't head down for Sen to record himself, which is what he's doing at first due to some camera mishaps, but rather to get the Hive Badge from Bugsy. Sen manages to turn the camera on the gear around in time for the battle to begin ( Read more... )

Heh. Reminds me of my battle against him.

[Says cap'n snarkbut with a smirk. Coincidentally, the level 100 Charizard he thrashed Bugsy with is chilling close by.]

Congrats.

[A nod of thanks, and she ignores the smirk as she walks, keeping a steady pace that moves the scenery behind her.]

Did you finish off his team in under ten minutes, too?

Beat them all in one hit. They didn't stand a chance.

[What he won't mention is how he purposely humiliated Bugsy by using Blast Burn on that Scizor.]

[Eyeroll. Honestly...]

You'd think they'd learn to train their teams by now.

No kidding. I know he's one of the first gym leaders, but you'd think he'd have at least some Pokémon at a higher level.

[Headshake. He's got a point, but...] From what I've heard, they've never changed their teams as long as we've been here. This place seems to hate change, so why would they do anything different?

Heh, that's true. Makes you wonder why they've still got their jobs if they can't even put up a good fight.

They're basically punching bags for better trainers.

[Punching bags with tempers, if Whitney's anything to go by.] Maybe because there's no one from this world stronger than them. If there's no one better to replace them with, it's better they stay where they are.

Could be. Who'd want to sit around in a gym all day, anyway? I can see why nobody's taken their place.

[Well, it would be easier than travelling constantly, but also much more boring. ...Yeah, Light'll just keep walking.]

If they've got a choice, I don't think many people would want to. Even if it's a position of power, it's not worth getting locked up in a building for the rest of their time here.

Not just locked up in a building. Locked up so other trainers can wipe the floor with them.

That's all they're really here for.

Punching bags. [Headshake.] Right.

We'll see if they've got another use if this theory pans out.

Oh yeah?

[Now that's interesting.]

Yeah. Theory going around is if we get all the badges, we go home. [Shrug.] Can't say if it's true or not yet.

I sure hope not. There's still a lot of this world I haven't seen yet. I don't plan on leaving until I've seen it all.

[Or if his friends leave. Oh, Riku.]

You'd have to see it all, anyway. The northern towns also have Gyms, so if you're trying to get back, you'd have to go there, too.

[Or, if he wants to stay, he can just not challenge the gyms. It's a fairly simple theory, really.]
