Supreme court judges are appointed to their position for life so that they will be impartial in their voting. If they had 6 year terms or something, when it came time to be re-elected into their spot they could be easily swayed to vote one way so theyd get re-elected.

Just like most of bill mahers questions, that wasn't good at all. Oh well.
