You're all so sweet to me, you know that? Thank you for your comments; they have lifted me out of the narrative-analysis-induced stupor I was in (Don't ask. It's actually duller than it sounds.) and I will return to them on those days when it's Sweets 0: Crazy 1.
The whole catching up on comments thing hasn't worked. The weekend will be my friend if I don't go and buy a new tattoo and I will be all up-to-date (and then all Modly!!! Sunday is when prompt-claiming opens at
flames_n_tats!!!).

Oh yeah baby! I got through the first round, and now round two is up. It took me fifteen mintues to read 12 drabbles (between 250-500words) but I speed read. Normal readers you have maybe twenty minutes, perhaps twenty five, of Charlie!centric gorgeousness. And then it'll take a further fifteen seconds to leave a comment with the number and title of your favourite drabble. You know you want to indulge in the Charlie!Love. AND ONE OF THE DRABBLES IS CHARLIE/DRACO *\o/*
So, I guess I should re-post this here.

Holidays in Wales were always crap. Always. It rained, or it snowed. Fred and George caused trouble and made his parents mad. Bill got more spending money than he did. Ron needed protecting from Fred and George. Percy stayed in to read. Ginny always behaved herself, but she was a girl.
But this holiday was the greatest ever.
Charlie held onto his Daddy's hand, staring up in awe at the creature. The visit to the Dragon Reserve had been his Daddy's idea, and Charlie had been scared. But seeing the creatures, the aching beauty in every scale, melted Charlie's fear away.
His other hand curled around the links in the chain fence, fingertips stretching out to try and touch the Welsh Green snoozing in the enclosure. Charlie liked Chimeras and Hippogriffs and the creatures in his storybooks, but seeing a dragon up close, watching the flank rise and fall as puffs of smoke shot out of her nostrils with each breath, made him forget every other animal he'd ever wanted as a pet.
The Dragon Keeper saw him, and smiled, picking something up from the ground and walking over to Charlie.
"Have this, little man, to remember."
Drawing his hand back, Charlie stared down at the scale, heavy and still warm in his palm. It was smooth and thick, shaped like a pentagon, and a little bit shiny; like one of the emeralds in Bill's treasure books, before they'd been cut and polished into gems for jewellery. Closing his fingers around it, protecting what was already the most precious thing he owned, Charlie smiled.
"Daddy, I want to be a Dragon Keeper."
