Well, well A little news
Interesting progress - I hope..
I called the elder affairs program again and explained that I hadn't gotten a response after two calls that were more than a month ago, and my name is being forwarded for examination for some different programs, I also have phone numbers for assist from a local group for yard work, a city number for help with house cleaning, and something called Aging True - which service I've forgotten. (twit!) The young woman also took my application for food stamps over the phone, and I'll hear from that in the mail in 30 work days, at the least. If I qualify for food stamps (and it looks as if I do), I'll also qualify for a discount on my phone bill, and may also get some financial assistance. I don't need Meals on Wheels right now, but I could have used them for a month or two, so this will qualify me for that as well... should I need it again. It's amazing - I'm as tired from doing the application over the phone as I would have been from filling it in in writing.. lol!
