Having a spate of very hot weather, which isn't fun, of course... Must remember to flip the circuit breaker on the hot water. That may bring my summer month electric bills down a bit... As it is, I have a toilet that's running almost all the time. I knew it was adding $10 or so to my monthly water bill, but the park manager called a few days ago, and it added $90 last month! There's no cut-off valve on that toilet.. Dear Clyde has volunteered to put one on, probably tomorrow.
Well, now - that was Monday. Clyde finally got the plumbing thing done on Thursday, and just as he was finishing the cut off valve, he spotted something, did a wiggle on the tower inside the tank -- and it no longer runs. The plastic tower was rubbing against the inside of the tank! Kept it from going all the way up, which caused the dribbles.. Hallelujah!
I'm sure I mentioned that some sort of ailment went through all the cats a few weeks back. After she got better, Miss Pink seemed to get something else - although it was difficult to tell, because she was avoiding me a lot due to jealousy of Patch. I'd go in the back room, find her on a shelf in the closet, and give her some pets... Anyway - she sort of faded away. I have not seen her in nearly two weeks, now. I even had Clyde look under the guest bed and move a couple boxes in that closet. No Pink. He swears, as does meer, that if she'd died, we'd be smelling it... but I'm quite sure she didn't go out, and I cannot find her. One of these days, I fear I'll run across her mummified, furry little body... I do love that kitty.. Such a sweet one!
Skye borrowed a pc from someone for a few days, and came in the room for a couple days this week. She made it clear that she thought I should have called her in the months since meer's visit. I'd sent a few emails - but how was I to know she couldn't find *any* puter to use? She has always seemed to manage things...
Meer was feeling great for a couple weeks and did a bunch of container gardening to brighten the front of his home... then he had a bad spell, then caught the flu, and is slowly building back up, now. Bless his patient heart!
I have fleas in the house like I've never had them before! Look down at my bare legs, and was seeing 5-10 fleas on each leg!! The kitties won't walk on the floor if they can help it -- they leap from chair to counter to table to couch. I bought some of the good flea spray and used it up in 2 complete sprays of the house, two days apart.. early last week. Well, they're still here, just not quite as bad. The floors need vacuuming to get up eggs, bodies, and whatever fleas will let go and get sucked up -- and I cannot do it. Clyde picked up some bug spray for me and for Tresa to share -- but it's not the kind you can spray on furniture, etc. It will probably cure the entry of the occasional palmetto bug, which Patch is so happy to capture and bring, alive, to my bed in the night.. -- twit! Sez it will also kill spiders, and I do have cobwebs all over the damned house.. but it can't be used on furniture, etc... (or my bedding!)
lol!
Okay - enough griping.. on with my day! Don't ya love all the spiffy things meer has truffles preparing for me and the cats? Really nice!
