It's finally here, the last day of tax season--hooray!!!! Granted, there are people on extensions, but the 12 hour days and working weekends are over! John and I can finally start our honeymoon. I have to give him a lot of credit, he managed to survive the craziness of tax season. It's no fun living with and being married to an Accountant. You get little to no time together, you eat dinner late and most of the time it's take out from chinese or some other fast food restaurant and you get up early and go to bed late. That's pretty much how we live during tax season, not to mention I am always completely exhausted and brain dead. John held up pretty well. He does spoil me normally, but during tax season he spoils me rotten! I get breakfast and coffee in bed every morning along with dinner in bed every night because that is where I head as soon as I come home. He would have the electric blanket on high so the bed would be warm when I got in it and he'd have a beverage waiting for me by the nightstand. Keep in mind this is a man that has his own work load with school and managing the house along with the cats who demand and I mean demand his time and attention. Our Fuzzy Lumpkins doesn't give him a moments rest when he's home and Brandalina aka Nagasaurus meows at him until he sits still long enough for her to curl up on him and get warm because she uses him for a foot and body warmer.
But here we are, the end of the tax season. I have off tomorrow and we are going to go to the Indian Buffet for lunch and then spend a leisurely afternoon together, followed by a home cooked meal of spareribs, some type of vegetable and macaroni and cheese. I'm going to cook and enjoy doing it. We have plans on Saturday to go and buy some pansies for our goose necks on the deck. A friend of mine is going to lay some astroturf down on the deck because the condo association had laid some type of carpet on the deck years ago and it seems it was not outdoor carpeting because it is growing moss from the weather and being wet. So once we have the deck recarpeted we are going to buy the rest of our summer garden so we'll be the envy of the condo since John really does a nice job of beautifying the deck. On Sunday we are going over to my parent's house for Passover. My brother and his wife along with the new baby will be there so we'll all get a chance to spend time with them. I'm sure John will have many pictures to post of the event. My mother is enjoying her role as "Bubbi" and my father is "Zaida" of which he does enjoy when he remembers which is sad. Although he's hanging in there. He does try to remember things, but he's losing the war, yet he keeps battling.
We'll eventually get up to see John's dad and Nancy. We weren't able to go to her surprise birthday party they had for her on the 5th of April so we are going to go up and take them out for dinner as our gift to her. We will be going to the Harbor House which has awesome food. Of course, we'll luncheon at the Amber which is a terrific Indian restaurant. We usually meet John's friend Louis there and visit with him for a bit before he head over to his dad's house. I'm hoping to get there either the first or second Saturday in May. We are already planning our weekends. We usually don't stay unbusy even after tax season is over. There are usually many social and family events that come up that we are always on the go. It's nice, but at the same time we do enjoy those days where we just lounge around the house. We don't usually start a good lounge until the pool opens up which will be Memorial Day Weekend. I can hardly wait for the warm weather and sunshine. Ah, I can feel it now. I love lounging poolside and just relaxing. But now I'm getting too far ahead of myself so I'll just enjoy the end of tax season and the beginning of spring. The rest will come when it comes. So, good bye tax season--see you next year and take your time coming around!!!! To my wonderful husband, thank you for being supportive and surviving it all with me. You are the best and I love you tremendously. We'll finally have some time to enjoy being married to each other!!!
