I woke up today to the alarm on my phone which somewhat saddened me. Due to lack of sleep I got up and got ready pretty bleary eyed and had to think twice to remember if I'd brushed my teeth. Driving to work there was pretty much no traffic on the roads. I love being the only car on the road, there's something powerful in it. The weather was lovely and thanks to C, I'm more used to the window's sound so I rolled them down and just enjoyed the breeze and birds.
Work was fun, we only had two behaviors. It was to cold to go swimming but he had a blast ridding in the jeep with Elmo. He asked me where Jay was twice, which was kind of cool considering it usually takes him a while to get attached to therapists and doesn’t see Jay very often. There's something about working with C that just makes you forget whatever else is on your mind, he's so funny. We are looking for another therapist within the next month--I've suggested it to Geoff and Lindsay. I think both would be great, but Geoff would probably thrill C, he doesn’t get to work with a lot of males. I hope both of them come out and observe at least once--it only takes most people meeting him once to fall in love with him. = 0 )
Leslie (another therapist) got there at 12 and didn’t realize that she didn’t work until 1 so I stayed and talked with her. She's such a phenomenal role model, both as an educator and as a Christian. We talked about God's calling and how sometimes we ignore it because we think we can’t do it or because we don’t want to. We just had a really amazing conversation. She really helped me deal with some of the fears I've been facing the past 2 weeks and didn’t make me feel like I was complaining. I'm really glad to have gotten the chance to know her as well as I have.
Following Leslie’s advice, I invited Chris out to lunch when I got back. We went out to pet-smart to look at the dogs (SO cute!) then picked up food at Sonny's and came back here to eat it. The food was delicious (as usual!) and we had some good conversation also. I learned some new things about Chris so that was fun. And it defiantly beat sitting around the apartment alone feeling sad.
And now, I'm off to hit the books for it can be avoided no longer.
