The turn-around

So, this weekend was eventful in a fairly uneventful kind of way. Played the show at Maia Chong's and it was exactly what I expected it to be. I won't explain my (fully realized)expectations of it, but I will say this: It was a birthday party for a girl still in high school and we played in her yard for her and her friends. Draw your own conclusions.

Maybe I'm just feeling old, but I felt nauseous and ancient when I overheard some girl say "Yeah, I think he's really cute for a Freshman, and I'm only a sophomore". I was fine until I realized it was high school. I can only imagine how Jon felt.

Beyond mosquitos, teenagers, lifting heavy things over a fence and Sean Higgins, I guess things went ok. I should never have a microphone again though.

So, I drove home alone and went to bed (also alone).

Sunday I went over to Farmington and partied with people I'd never really met before save one. Let's just say I think I made an ass of myself at the "show" saturday, but after last night's stunning display of social prowess I look back on Saturday with fondness. Being clever, witty, suave, charismatic, sweet and funny are such foreign concepts to me when it comes to social situations.
