"Summer in the City" is a song I now sing ironically

I've had that little yellow picture of Kentucky as my icon on here since I moved to Louisville. It just seemed like a good idea. Maybe, on some level I wanted to remind people that I am still around, just in a different area code. Regardless, it's changed for the summer. If people can't put it together I'll explain it to you on an individual basis.

It's going to be a 20 hour drive, which I plan on taking at a leisurely pace so I can explore a bit. I just ordered a new tent and some new sneakers, so all I need to do now is finish up the season with ATL, pack and load up my car. Well, and wait for said ordered items to be delivered.

I watched "sixteen candles" last night. During which I realized a few things:

1. The working title must have been "hey look, another Molly Ringwald reaction shot!"
2. The "nerdy" styles of that time are totally hipster/emo styles of today.
3. John Hughs movies should be used as educational films. A lot of movies look like a time period but are really timeless ("The Shining" comes to mind. Bad 70's style, but a durable movie) Whereas Hughs' movies are very 1980's, and unashamedly so. He knew what he was doing. He was capturing the moment. And therin lies the charm. And, as a result of watching that movie, I am now going to try to re-introduce "butt-lick" into the vernacular.

On a side-ish note, if you need shoes but can't find the brand you like, I suggest checking out www.zappos.com Decent prices and huge selection.
