WOW! I went to Grand Rapid's PRIDE today with Kyle, and to be honest with you, I didn't think I would have quite as much fun as I actually did. I must admit that I WAS disappointed that I couldn't get my face painted AT ALL, but that was the only downfall. The children's center closed down before I realized that they were actually offering it, so alas, no pretty butterfly or rainbow for my skin at all. :( Oh well. I threw a tantrum and smacked Kyle up a bit (kidding), but I eventually calmed down when the Rumors drag show began. My jaw was to the ground. I was so mesmorized. It was like I was captured in a completely different world, which technically, I kind of was because I've never seen such dancing before. Then I realized that I left my damn memory card at home, so my camera could only hold like five pictures. So no photographs of the beautiful ladies for me. Crud. But seriously, they were stunning. So energetic and beautiful. It made me happy. I want to see them again. And I want to marry them. ALL of them.

Later on that evening, we met up with one of my favorite people, Geoff, and he introduced us to his friends, one of whom is deaf, so Kyle was like, "OOH, I know sign language!" So he had a conversation with Freddie (Freddy?), which I thought was beautiful too.

And I caught some beads! Yes, I flashed the drag queens, and they were like, "That's what I'm talking about," and we all had a massive orgy, or no, nevermind, maybe not. But by the end of the show, all the performers got up on stage and started tossing beaded necklaces to the crowd, and I now have two of them hanging on my door. It was a highlight of the afternoon.

I'm sorry. I'm blabbering incoherently. It's almost 2AM, forgive me. I simply had a wonderful time and am very very glad I didn't miss out on the fun. It was a very family enriched event, and I am an extremely proud little girl.

*waves her beads over her head, shrieking like Xena, the warrior princess*

Oh yeah. Nevermind. I did get a horrible picture of the drag show when it first started.

And erm, yeah, the quality is so horrendous. I'm so ashamed of myself, but it was a quick, ecstatic shot, and the redhead has a hilarious look on her face, but... well, look at Electra (is that how you spell her name?), the last one on the left. That figure puts most girls to shame. siiigghhh. Beautiful!

And here's a photo of the four coolest homos around. ;) (Besides Meg of course. I was thinking of her while I was at the festival.)

From left to right: Geoff, awesome buddy from work (look at the camera, boy); Jared, awesome NEW buddy from work, who speaks fluent German, fluent ANGRY German, for that, and looks like he's trying to be cooler than he actually is (heh. kidding.); Kyle, awesome best friend who doesn't seem to want to buy me anything anymore...bitch; and Freddie, (Freddy? I just don't know) one of the sweetest guys I've ever met.

I only wish I was more prepared in the camera department, but oh well. There's always another time.

Good night. I am out!
