Okay. I did it. If you haven't done it in a year and you are over 40 or have high risk factors in your family, it is time for you to do it too.
My grandmother and 2 of my aunts on my mother's side all died from breast cancer. I have one other aunt who had a double mastectomy but is in remission. I am religious about getting my mammogram annually and even started in my thirties due to the family history.
So, please, if you haven't done your exams or had your mammogram, talk to your doctor to see if you should.
On a side note. The Women's Imaging Center had repainted and refurnished completely since last year. Very nicely done. However, I told the tech that for the exam rooms they should have painted them black and instead of the medical smock that matched the paint on the walls they should wear leather since it is a torture chamber after all.
She was so funny and played along. We were goofing around and joking and before you knew it I had been freshly squeezed and it wasn't nearly as bad as usual.
