Movie Theater Etiquette and Why I Love Old People

We went to the movies last night to see No Country for Old Men at the theater in town that doesn’t have stadium seating. Yes, there are backwards places like that still.

Just as the lights are going down an older woman and an older man 65 to 70 were going to sit in the row ahead of us. God bless the old lady who walked in four seats from the aisle so that they wouldn’t be right in front of us. Her old hubby was standing right in front of me holding popcorn saying, “Where are you going?” Dude is like 70, you’d think he had been to the movie before.

His wife says, “There isn’t stadium seating here let’s go over this far so we don’t sit in front of those people.”

He kind of dodders forward and sits down.

The first trailers come on and the old guy is saying something to his wife. She says, “Didn’t you bring your hearing aids?”

Oh shit! This is going to be a long movie. They really weren’t as bad as they could have been but at one point the old guy and his wife couldn’t figure out a plot twist so the lady in front of them turns around and explains it to them. Unbelievable. She actually explained it to them.

Gotta love the old people. Just gotta.
