Well feeling quite a bit better about myself, as actually produced a half-decent arts page, and some pretty natty listings, which although it sounds boring took me a fucking lot of hard work to get three days into the space normally meant for two.
Of course the trick about doing it was to make compromises, leave stuff out and do something acceptably imperfect, something I am slowly learning to do. Also I HAVE to start saying no to things. I can't do everything I think I can.
Unfortunately one of the compromises I had to make with my plan today was missing a meeting with the people from The Skinny. A really important one that was pretty much compulsory. OK, so they didn't inform me about it by e-mail, but I still knew, and should have been there. I'm sure it's reparable, but I'm already burning up what little shred of reputation I might have there.
I guess a little failure helps focus you.
On a plus note Edinburgh was beautiful on the walk home. The view of the castle framed in the bottom of Frederick street is perhaps its best angle. I went to Hierapolis kebab shop as I still hadn't had any tea and it was past midnight. There were some girls pissing themselves laughing there, which always makes me uncomfortable. That arrogant assumption that they're laughing at me. However, this was made up by the fact the guy gave me free chips with my kebab, yay! I ate them walking through Bristo Square while random hippies swung fire poi. Yah boo to all you negative cynics out there, the festival can be magic if you rise above the inconvenience.
