so this weekend I had prientation for college..it was pretty fun. I didn't stay over night though cause I honestly didn't feel like it and we were supposed to hit up the beach but enever did. gah. but yeah...so I took my math and computer placement tests. I guess I did so well on my computer one that I don't need to take the computer courses offered by bay path so I get to take an elective instead. I wanted to take half a semester of archeology but it's only a spring class and my elective course was available during the fall semester only. but oh well. I think I'm really starting to get into the college spirit! I got my degree audit for elementary education which technically isn't a "major"...but a licensure I'm going for. Offocially speaking my mjor is liberal studies with a teaching license. I get my degree in liberal studies cause you have to take a little bit of everything that you have to teach and of i keep my GPA above a 3.0 by senior year I will have my teaching license. and if I pass the MTEL tests than I can student teach by the beginning of my senior year and starting my spring semester of freshmen year I'll be in the classrooms observing and helping out. I'm so excited! Because I got my degree audit, i also had to make my schedule....Here it is:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday:
critical reading&response (eng114-03) 10:00-10:50am
tro to psychology (psy101-02) 11:00-11:50am
esday, Thursday:
american government (gov100-01) 9:25-10:40am
llege algebra (mat111-02) 11:00-12:15pm
Thursday:
princilpes of sociology (soc100-01) 6:00-8:30 pm
so pretty much I have the bOMBEST schedule. lol. all my classes are in the morning so I have the whole afternoon to mysef. there is another class I have to take "First Year Experience: Self-Discovery"..all incoming students are required to take that class. this girl that I work with said that it is a useless class but an easy credit that just is based on attendance to class. I'm really bummed that I'm not taking archeology. I think that would be fabuloous. I am so excited to start college! I finished th summer readong. It was this book called "the namesake" about this couple to have an arranaged marriage and then move from calcutta to combridge, ma and then have a son. the story basically follows the son's life and how he struggles to break away from his parents traditional ways and his attemtps to establish who he is. It's really good. I highly suggest it as a good read.
ok..well..more on college in the weeks to follow!!!
