(no subject)
This weekend in Stockholm: The annual Chocolate Festival at Nordiska Museet, Stockholm Pride volunteer party, and Green Day playing in the Globe Arena. Oh, and Denmark versus Sweden on the telly, possibly the most highly anticipated - and important - World Cup qualifier in a dog's age.
So what do I do?
I go to Göteborg (Gothenburg). What I'll be doing there is to help with the de-rigging of the East Indiaman Götheborg, to prepare it for the coming winter. I have never done such a thing before, and I've never been on the ship, but I saw her briefly when she visited Stockholm once, and I just wanted to get on and sail away. There'll be no sailing this weekend, just hard work, but hopefully it'll up my chances of one day getting to live the dream of crossing the seas on such a grand ship...
Nevertheless, I do hope my time on Götheborg in Göteborg will be awesome, 'cos if it's not I'll just be thinking of what I'm missing in Stockholm... But if that's the case, well, I gots some monies from me folks, so whichever way it goes I can just save a bit of that and go see District 9 again when I get back. ^_^
And one more thing - taking the train from Stockholm to Göteborg usually takes around three hours. The one I'm going on tomorrow takes 6 and a half! O.O Good thing I found a pair of earbuds (my old headphones are dead and buried), going that long with nothing to occupy myself with wouldn't have been very much fun. I get motion sickness if I read, and the landscape along the way isn't all that inspiring. XP
