Hmm, let's see... Pretending I have access to all these items, like I'd actually planned to do a time capsule today, this is what I'd put in:
- One week's worth of newspapers.
- A copy of my comic Fashionista Centaur.
- One of my rubber aardvarks.
- My accreditation badge from Stockholm Pride.
- Various other souvenirs from Stockholm Pride, flags and whistles and whatnot.
- An un-opened glass bottle of Pepsi (in a sealed, water-proof bag, just in case).
- My beloved DC shoes (or not, I'll wear these till they fall apart, then I'll put them in a capsule. After I've gotten a pair of new ones, possibly these, which are Totally Awesome since giraffes are my favourite kind of animal).
- Some comic books, like Spirou, Tintin, Stallgänget på Tuva, Batman (Switch, Secrets and Arkham Asylum comes to mind), Digger, One Piece, Sandman, The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck... Stuff I like and want to preserve for the future, basically.
- A few CDs, or other kinds of recorded music that can survive 50 years intact. I'm thinking AFI, Blaqk Audio, Green Day, The Offspring, and if any of these records is signed by one or more members of the bands, so much better.
- Internet memes, filled in and printed with archival ink on acid free paper.
- Pictures of lolcats.
- 10 small, random objects that I have purchased in different stores in one day.
- My old glasses (if I were to get new ones).
- Some hairs from my cat, with a note saying "Feel free to clone".
- At least one Hello Kitty item.
- A regular, underwired bra.
- Photos of various places and things that mean something to me; my cat, select pieces of Stockholm, my friends, places I've been etc.
- Satellite photos of various important cities.
- A transcript of every Twitter update I've made to date.
- A hardcover copy of Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman (preferrably signed).
- One or more of my own sketchbooks.
- A chibi Cthulhu.
- Printouts of the, in my mind, best stories I've written.
- Souvenirs from the different cities and countries I've visited (even if it's just a rock).
- A phalloi drawing by ursulav .
This isn't so much a time capsule, more like a time trunk, but the idea is growing on me. I'd definitely like to hide my shoes away for the future to see, it's that or knot the laces and toss them over a phone line. I think I'll need to spray them with something antibacterial first though, so they don't turn to mulch.
