A week goes by and I've finally finished everyone's gloves, and even made a few gold "cufflinks" for Liz.
Because i was bogged down with gloves, I asked Liz to make the base of my hand armor.. Here's what she made me. The top piece lays ontop of the gem for depth. They also look a bit different than the illustrations, but we figured they looked better this way so we kept the pattern.
I finally got around to starting my sword.. and by starting I mean figuring out how to build the base of the sword so that it breaks down into two pieces, as well as what tools I'll need to use. I bounced around ideas with my dad, and I think I've got a working solution that doesn't involve me using any big power tool/saws. I'll be able to start the sword tomorrow after work and hopefully, within the week, get to a point where I can multitask the rest of the sewing and the decorative work on the sword.
I'm going to try and get a boot done tonight. My sexy work shoes will be sacrificed for you Umi. You know you're a cosplayer when you purchase shoes for the sole intent on destroying them a year later for a costume(payless bogo!) But hey, atleast I'll be comfortable in broken in 3" heels, right?
