Summary: Kyo’s first-and only-crush on a girl was in the fourth grade.
Warnings: none
His first crush on a girl was in the fourth grade. She had been a cute little button that always had her hair up in pigtails and would always dress in an outfit that would incorporate both pink and a bow of some sort. She was a social butterfly that always seemed so nice to everyone.
Not that he had ever talked to her personally. He had just been watching her interacting with other people from afar. Because she wore so much pink, she stood out so much that it was hard for Kyo not to watch just her.
Eventually, after being under the impression that she was a very nice person, Kyo felt he had the tiniest crush on the girl. Although he had no “real” friend to conceal this to, some were able to understand what was going on in Kyo’s mind by how often he would stare at her.
“Kyo has a crush on you, he’s always staring at you,” one of the pink girl’s friends said, all hunched over next to the girl’s ear yet still talking at her regular “indoor” voice level.
The girl rolled her eyes and shook her head. “Eww! Carrot top?” She curled her lip in disgust. “I would never want to go out with him! He’s such a weirdo. A freak.”
Kyo was later informed for the girl’s reaction by some other classmates of his. He then decided that he no longer liked the girl and made sure to keep his distance, although he would catch himself still staring at the bright pink always being shoved into his line of vision.
When he got older, the only reason Kyo could still remember such incident was probably his odd choice of guidance. Kyoko was the first person he ever recounted the incident to, or even noticed how put down he was by it.
