2011 in Review
So I am super duper late
with my review of the awesome year that was 2011. But my journal had been closed for a long time and I was hoping to get some graphics finished to open with. But they are still a few days off.
So after I closed up shop last year I was getting burned out working in a dead end kitchen job and coming home and working in photoshop all of the time. My luck changed on mother's day when I dropped a desk on my foot and smashed my toes into a bloody mess. Painful? Yes! Lost my job because I was in the emergency room. Ended up in crutches for a couple of weeks. But out of that bad, painful event I finally got myself together, lost a bit of pride and borrowed some money. And finally sat down and passed my security exam and applied for my license.
I went away for my mate Billy's wedding. I was one of his groomsmen. It was all very fun and I had the best night. The other groomsman(woman) Jay and I had a kick ass speech. There was drinking and laughter and hijinks into the night. Then Mitch and I ended up sleeping in his car because we forgot to get the keys to the flat we were supposed to stay in.
I came back from that wedding and got a job as a patrol guard with one of the biggest companies in town. I dove straight into work and have been working my butt off since. I first started out on the ten hour shift but got promoted up when one of the guys snapped his collarbone and then had to leave the company for personal reasons. I'm now on a 12hr night 7 nights a fortnight. It's really good, I'm earning enough money that I got out of all of my debt, bought a few electronic things like ipod, mini laptop, paid to get air conditioning installed in my room then I went for the big one and bought a brand new ute. A Nissan Navara. So now I am back in debt but it's worth it.
So anyway I worked from 28th of Dec to 22 of Jan with only 5 days off. It turned out to be some 252 odd hours in three weeks. I was quite the zombie at the end of that. That is really the reason why I am so late with the re-opening of this journal. So I shall be posting pictures in the morning after I sleep.

1. What did you do in 2011 that you'd never done before?
Dyed my hair black
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I did. Got out of debt, get a real job, get an Ipod.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No
4. Did anyone close to you die?

5. What countries did you visit?
None
6. What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011?
A girlfriend
7. What dates from 2011 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
14 July. Day I started my new job
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Letting loose a little. If I wanted something or to do something I did it and not cared how much money it cost me.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Managing work/play time
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Only crushing toes.
They got better.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
My car.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Probably mine, for finally getting my butt into gear. At least celebration for the rest of my family.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
The evil she-b*tch that shall remain unnamed.
14. Where did most of your money go?
New stuff that I had been wanting for ages.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
My trip up to my folks, specifically the overnight hunting/camping trip with Dad.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? Happier for sure. Definitely less stressed.
b) thinner or fatter? Same but fitter.
c) richer or poorer? Richer, that's what happens when you work your ass off
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Spent time out socialising.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Bumming around at the start of the year.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
With the family as always.
21. Did you fall in love in 2011?
Only with my job. Unfortunately no ladies this year.

Haha...if only I had the time.

Glee and Rizzoli and Isles
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
That b*tch that my brother was engaged to. She broke it off with him and now she is back stringing him along.

Elizabeth Moon. Can't remember the trilogy name.

Shiny Toy Guns

hmmm... I think I got everything that I could afford easily.

My new computer, but that isn't so far away.

I Am Number 4, Glee, and a whole bunch of others that I can't remember

Haha...that was so long ago. I know I did take a week and went to my folks.
